I have used Curt hitches for years - they fit properly and have never caused me any grief. The part with the square opening that mounts to the ATV is the receiver. The part that slides into the receiver is the ball mount. Great accessories for the ATV.

I saw in a video after this that you took off the 2in receiver hitch. I am a 15 year old kid from Wisconsin and I own a 2006 Honda rancher TRX350FM. It has in the straight axle in the back and I was not happy with the stock “hitch” on it as well. I searched the web and found this company called KFI products. They make a receiver hitch that replaces the stock one totally. It was very simple. Just took out the two bolts that attach the hitch to the axle and replace it with the receiver hitch. So far loving it and seeing no signs of stress on my axle or shock. I pull trailers, and the main thing is a compact manure spreader for our farm. It handled it with no problem. Hope you find this helpful.

Definitely use some loctite on the hitch. I had the exact setup for my Yamaha Grizzly to pull my Swisher Trail Mower. That thing twisted constantly even with that little plate underneath cranked down. Ended up switching to a hitch setup that mounts to the frame. I agree totally about an ATV/UTV combo. Bought a Mule FXT this past summer. Both have their place on the farm. I put a Titan Attachments rack like the Kolpin on my Grizzly. As usual, great stuff brother. I appreciate ya.

Concur about light footprints for an ATV. Neighbor had a Honda ATV on our place and crossed a swampy area without leaving much of a track, much less a rut. I couldn’t walk in that spot without leaving deep prints. I certainly couldn’t go through there with a 2WD tractor, maybe not even 4WD.

Love my Sawhaul. Ran over my Stihl 1 time and that was enough.. The accessibility I have with Sawhaul on my tractor, not forgetting it is in the bucket , and the design of it (not a rigid fit on scabbard) shows there was alot of thought on the design. I need some of those Kolpin ratcheting racks on my gator for my timber jack as well... Thanks for the great content as always!

If you are going to pull anything with any weight with your 2" receiver you will need to tighten it more than with just a adjustable wrench. If you don't it will move around and oblong the hole on the 4wheeler ball mount. Also keep in mind that by extending the trailer pivot point out like that you added a lot of leverage to the 4wheeler mount and can bent it very easily. You can also crack the axel housing. I only mention this because I "may or may not" have experience with it..... That is a great product in concept but please be careful to not damage your 4wheeler in application.

None of my business but you do know how big he is right 😂 I’d say you can’t break it loose with what he tightened it down with. He is a big joker be like getting into it with a bear 😂 and most of the time those cheap mounts break away at the bolts can am 1000’s will as well only know because are family owns an atv park in sc and I’ve torn them off many times because people hook to them over frame and all. But definitely understand what your saying but I promise he has it plenty tight lol

Josh I’ll give you another nice trick I do a lot of fab and performance work as well as own a farm and grew up working on a poultry farm and take new drill bits and dip or brush them in pvc glue that you use for water line! it will keep the sharp sharp and they will last 5 times as long. Take a new cheap set and do it and you will see how well it works it turns cheap drill bits into great one’s! And turn great bits into amazing one’s I’ve got a set I paid $200 on that I’ve used weekly for 2 years now. But I Just wanted to pass that along because good bits aren’t cheap and there is nothing worst then wrecking them first use it will protect and keep them sharp thank me later brother.

Hey Josh hope all is well!!! My wife and I just bought a regenerative farm in south east TN! I just wanna thank you for all your videos and encouragement as it really helped me make the decision to start farming! I also just picked up a 2019 Honda Forman thanks to your advice as well! I was wondering if you have been happy with your racks that you put on your Forman? I was about to order the Kolpin racks tonight but wanted to see how you have liked them and if you were to do it again if you would go with the same setup? Again thanks so much for all the videos as they have been a huge help to me and getting our farm started!

I used to have that Curt 2" receiver adapter on my Honda 420 Rancher but broke it hauling firewood around a tight corner where the V-bracket failed and almost caused me to roll. I now use a KFI 2" rear receiver hitch designed specifically for Honda Ranchers and Foremans with solid rear axles. It's twice the price but well worth it. Just a FYI for ya. Cheers!

Hi Josh, just be aware the carrying capacity of a quad, OK you have a big bike but smaller ones can't carry so much, and extra kit can make it unstable, be aware they can kill! Here in the UK we are advised to wear a crash helmet and there is a rollbar available to mount Great video Josh

@duanemiller56064 жыл бұрын
Two thoughts about your Sawhaul. First of all to keep it from flopping around so much you could put the larger metal plate to spread the load so it’s not quite so flexible because sooner or later that bouncing will cause metal fatigue. Secondly that sheath, I don’t notice any kind of a drain on it. You might wanna cut a real large slot on the bottom end so that water and debris can fall out the bottom. Had I’ve been the one to design it or around the guy who was designing it, I think I would have told him just use a long rectangular box With the retaining shoulder on top and an open bottom long enough to hold whatever length of chainsaw bar is kind of common, probably 24 inches, you can always put a shorter one in. As it is if it rains water can get down there with the wood chips and sawdust from the chainsaw and hold moisture that can rust your chain and/or bar.

I bought a saw haul for my subcompact John Deer 1025R tractor. The sheath for the chainsaw did not last long. The rough ride on the tractor on my trails through the woods cause the 90 degree lip that holds the sheath in the saw haul frame broke off. Would love to find a way to replace the sheath that does not cost near the price of repurchasing the entire Saw Haul.

You should check out the KFI ATV hitch. I have the same Honda 500 and it works better than the Curt. Model number 101465 and it will fit your ATV. It is alot stronger than the Curt. And it fits like the factory style hitch. I use it with the same Curt ATV ball that you have. I pull a large trailer no problem.
@michaelscottalloway89154 жыл бұрын
I know the saw haler is ok if it is bouncing a little but I would be afraid it would catch on something and tear it off . Maybe it should have a small brace or something like that so it's not so bouncy .
