Josh you could dedicate an entire channel to this type of stuff and still not be able to do justice to the people and the work that goes into building a single unit but that is only because most people don't understand what it takes however in no way is this meant in a negative way towards what you are doing. The only reason I have any idea of how much work goes into building one of these is because I work in a small metal fabrication shop. Keep up the awesome work and if you get a chance try following a build from the very beginning to the end. I know it would be a very long video but it is something that might show others just how much work is involved vs. the cost.

I do field service on equipment like this. Never seen a hose crimper like that. I run Parker on my truck. Good hose but hard to work with in the cold weather.
@LaneSharkUSA4 жыл бұрын
We use Gates products. Its a pretty good crimper, but can be a pain when doing a lot of 90 degree fittings. But the hose is amazing, it's a newer hose with a ton of actual flexibility, almost as flexible as a water hose.

SRF you seem to stand by that 5065E which seems like she's holding her own. Knowing what you know now, would you have gone with something bigger from the jump if you had the option financially? Or would you consider a 65 as being a do all for the average homesteader?

Just purchased one from WC Tractor in Texas and had those fine folks adapt it to an existing 3rd function hydraulic on a Kubota L2501. This being a medium sized tractor, the smaller therefore less heavy unit was installed. Also the smaller tractors have hydraulic systems with less flow than larger units and the hydraulic motor on the Lane Shark unit is coupled to match those specifications. I have about three hours of use in an East Texas creek bottom cutting material ranging from cattails and Johnson Grass to the more challenging woody growth called Yaupon and Bee Brush. The Yaupon is the more difficult of the two and patience and understanding of the limitations of this smaller unit is capable of and it is capable of quite a bit. Can you expect to use a lawn mower on you newly cleared land without dealing with the roots and nubs? Surely you jest Grasshopper. Neither would a monster PTO driven "Brush Hog" (TM) style give you those kind of yard-like results. Root and stub removal will be necessary if this is the kind of finished product you want. But I will say if you have ever faced Cat Claw a rather nasty razor sharp blood letting pesky vine, this Swiss Army knife of an implement will let you deal with this and never get off your tractor. I could not be more happy. You have to have some common sense head-noodles when using this. They are not for the faint of heart and when working around others on a crew, an abundance of caution will be needed. Don't point this at anything you don't want cut and be aware of what is down range so to speak. Wear your proper protective gear including seat belt and roll over bar. This is not a Forest Gump mower.
