STOP BUBBLES Ruining your Resin When Casting with Feathers

This video shows how to stop bubbles ruining your resin casting without a pressure pot when you are casting with feathers. Feathers can be a problem in resin, causing gaps in the resin and trapping bubbles that spoil the look of the final casting. I think this is because feathers have evolved to repel liquid and to trap air to keep the bird warm and dry. Don't despair the method I demonstrate in this video will allow you to achieve great results every time. There are tips and tricks throughout this video, so ensure you watch to the end.

loved this idea for very vivid and colorful feathers. Do you by any chance have any idea how I could protect a white feather in resin? because once I put any white feather in resin it almost turns transparent.

Hi Thank u for this video I’m definitely going to do this ! I think I might be allergic to the resin , on one of your other videos I have watched I think u said u were allergic to resin ? In this video u mentioned u put on a barrier cream before u use resin , I was just wondering which one u using ? When doing clear resin do the feathers come out true to colour, I've a load of feathers from my Macaw I've been trying to think of how to display them as therecway to beautiful to throw out.

Steve, I always wear gloves but have been advised that I do not need to wear a mask by the company. I use a non toxic resin from a UK company. I also work in a well ventilated room. I'm still worried why people like yourself insist on wearing masks. I've phoned this company twice and they insist masks are NOT necessary.
