@Harbor Anthem I don't really agree with that. I think it is more common that kids doing these skincare trends on tiktok are just doing it because it's trendy and it looks cool. The vast majority of people could care less about skincare, especially when they are young. Youth have the tendency to believe that they are not predisposed to getting old or having any negative effects from the poor choices they make while they are young. While skincare is getting more popular and publicly available, there are always going to be these ridiculous trends and fads. Especially when we don't know that much about it, we fall into the traps because someone who is in the public eye did it and it seemed like a good idea/I trust everything they say blindly.

Then I discovered niacinamide and started to use that after a gentle cleanser. After a few weeks I realized that I had dry patches on my skin and the oil production was just to compensate for the extreme stripping! Turns out my skin is actually dry! So dry that I don't even use niacinamide anymore! I just use a gentle cleanser and a good moisturizer. Personally for me, I used to dislike HA because I found that it dried out my skin and I did not see any skin care benefits. However, I recently started using it again after discovering it works best on damp skin as it allows for the drawing of moisture from the water molecules rather than the water inside your skin. Then, I ‘slug’ with petrolatum to occlude the HA and my skin looks so damn good! I also found that it drastically helped manage my winter dermatitis on my face (became at least 90% better)! Try out skincare and see what works for you, it’s all about experimenting and seeing what’s best!

The Ordinary Niacinimide + Zinc is my Holy Grail. I put a few drops into my Cerave moisturizer. The Ordinary products mix really well to elevate basic creams and serums. They are the perfect "booster" for people who can't afford all the high end expensive products. It's still cheaper to use their actives to made your own blends. Also you can tailor and customize to your own skincare needs on a day to day basis.

I have been pretty good at sticking with a skincare regime most of my adult life, but nothing more than cleanse and moisturize. Cosrx has 2 kinds of patches, the red label one is supposed to be used overnight during sleep so it isn't as sticky but absorbs very well, the black label is thinner and stickier, and can be used during the day under makeup 😊

AOA brand from shopmissa sells packs of pimple patches with tea tree oil for $1.77. That's just under the price of the Cosrx ones (per patch, I believe), but they're also medicated. While you're there, check out their Paw Paw sponges, powder puffs, blotting papers, razors & refills, tweezers (if you lose your Tweezerman ones, especially 😭), cleansing balm, brush and sponge cleaners, hand soap sheets, drawer organisers, storage organiser stuff, empty palettes, hair ties and scrunchies, headbands, and bath bombs (pretty nice, pretty colourful, MAY STAIN FABRICS). 👍🏻 They have a lot of good stuff that can be extremely useful! But especially things that you already use and need to replace frequently, like makeup sponges and puffs, and things that you use but that are consumable and need to be bought frequently, like blotting papers. Both at very fair prices. I do not suggest buying a whole lot that you don't usually use, and would likely go to waste, however. I especially don't suggest buying versions of things you already have and like (eg: Tweezerman tweezers), unless you're scared of losing the original (like me), or you want a cheap travel version, to avoid losing the good ones (unlike me). Personally, I wouldn't bother with their skincare or makeup, but I don't mind with products that get washed down the sink immediately after, like cleansing balm. The cleansing balm I generally buy is around $20, and I go through it pretty quickly, so I figured it was worth a shot. But, you do you. Just try not to be super wasteful with your purchases, please. 🙏🏻 Cheap definitely doesn't mean that it doesn't produce waste.

I agree with most of your opinions. Just wanna share, for me it's all the process. When I first introduced to cosmetics, I took interest on make up first rather than skincare. At the start, I just didn't know where to start and it's easier to look what's in trend before what I need. I put pimple patches, clay masks, and sheet masks from many different brands. Later on when I knew better, I put sunscreen, cleansers, and moisturizers over everything. When we know how to thoroughly cleanse, sometimes it works as exfoliating too. Although we have different opinion for toner, I agree our skin need hydration. After some time, it became a cool journey though. For knowing your skin better, even from a break out you can learnt something lol. Maybe it all started from the want to take care of outer appearance that in this case is face but the more we dive deeper we gain knowledges about ingredients, food and beverage intake, water intake, sleep, and lifestyle overall. Thank you for sharing, I've been watching your videos since two years ago :)

After watching lots of your vids and researching, I decided to try acids just to test them (thinking it'd probably not work on me as nothing has so far) and was convinced that I'd go back to peelings soon. 6 months later I'm in love and have not gone back to my old routine (not planing to either) retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, gentle cleansers and moisturisers have transformed my skin beyond what I thought possible (at 28 I didn't think I'd ever have nice skin if I haven't till now) it's clear, pores look more refined and overall it looks better and brighter than it ever has ❤️THANK YOU SO MUCH❤️

Funny coincidence! Two days ago I stopped using both Niacinamide and Hyalyronic Acid serums (watching this video for the first time today), both which I have sworn by every day since I started with my skincare routine. I was writing down my whole routine for someone on Facebook asking for advice, when I realised that I really did use a crazy amount of products. So I decided to take it down some notches by reducing the number of products, and that's where the Niacinamide and Hyalyronic Acid serums just suddenly felt excessive. This video made me more confident that I have made the right decision for my skin 😁 Thanks for the enlightenment! Always such a pleasure watching you 🙏 Not sure if I am able to reach you personally here for advice, but I'll take my chances 😁 I am living in the Arctic, and regarding sunscreen I am so confused as to whether wearing sunscreen also is necessary for me during the winter months. The sun is completely gone at that time of year in this part of the world and there are few if any who have been able to give me a straight answer to this question 🤔

Except for the vit C with Alpha arbutin, the other products just didn't suit my skin needs or routine. I love my Korean products where a single serum is packed with almost every ingredient your skin needs, and they do make a visible difference when used.
