Stop calling people obese? Feat. Nelufar Hedayat & Angela Epstein | Storm Huntley

NHS staff have been given new guidance by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, which warns against calling severely overweight people 'obese'.
Instead, they've been told to use the phrase 'people with obesity' because it doesn't incidate that a medical condition is 'what a person is'.

BMI is a good guide. It may not make sense for the 0.01% of body building population. We do not change our language. We need to change what we eat.

I don’t see the point. Obesity is a medical condition that needs to be treated. It has a knock on effect to a number of other medical conditions that exacerbates these conditions and makes them so much worse.

I'm classed as Obese because the BMI is ridiculous. I'm 17st and less than 12% body fat as a bodybuilder. Get rid of BMI it's a nonsense
