I love this. I used to work with relationship coaches and I said it years ago, over a decade, that "you complete me," is SO Co-dependent it is NOT healthy. The healthy relationship is comprised of 2 independently complete people who love each other, get along, want to grow together, and CAN live without each other but don't WANT to. I love you guys. Thank you for spreading the healthy relationship message. We need more of this❣

Just recently, I reflected on my past fails and relationships & I realized the problem....that I never learned early on in life how to maintain a relationship.

Lewis & Martha, my biggest take away from this Interview is the Values & how we love ourselves first and also that without that Growth, maturity, experiences and alignment, it's almost impossible to have a Loving Balanced relationship. Please invite Martha to your show more! She's so wise, eloquent and on the point! I learn so much from her, maybe even more than from some of the other guests. :) It is also very sweet to see how a successful relationship/marriage actually looks like through both of you when there's such a marriage avoidance culture among men in the US with the 50% divorce rate like a horror fable story. I love her metaphor of having your own universe and the love partner is just one of the bright star in it, at the same time, we need to accept to just be a bright star of our partner's universe as well, not the sun, or the whole world to our men/women, so very different from the dragon slaying stories/movies where men have to risk their life to save us.

@karissa Jones: Are you crazy?! I was into the first 5 minutes and I got the full picture of this messed up relationship. That woman will only drain him mentally and heart-wise. It's not about them but it's about her only. I believe that both parties have been married before, but it's a bad move. It's best if this host ends up with someone Young. Some one unmolested! California has so many women to date especially young ladies and he ends up with this old foggie. Really?! This is a joke! It's bad comedy. April 23, 2023. USA.

@jay- It's obvious, Martha's vulnerability intimidates your insecurities about who you are. Stay exactly who you are. What we don't change, WE CHOOSE. You will attract exactly who you are, which is the OPPOSITE of who Lewis and Martha are: a manipulating, controlling, dominating, insecure adult, reacting as a traumatized child in an adult body. I wish you the happy, fulfilling life of your dreams you so deserve!

MY take aways: 1. Put yourself first (specially your health), 2. When you don’t feel secure in your relationship, you begging trying to control the other person, and that may come from not feeling good enough yourself, if they betray you, they weren’t the person for you, 3.

How have you done so that your cultural differences do not affect your relationship?
@KarlaGarcia-rs3oi11 ай бұрын

@Majesty12-1211 ай бұрын
Cultural differences will be just that always different, unchanging. You just adapt to that and go with the flow of things. People always identify with their cultures and upbringing, its not something that changes overtime. This is why its important to first evaluate if cultures differ if that's something your willing to be accepting of in the other person. Tradition and culture always shows in people. It's best to refrain from getting involved with someone that you can't accept their culture because there's always disagreements that will happen and you can't change someone else for yourself to be pleased.
@aplik88111 ай бұрын
Hi friend, it is not something easy to anticipate contrarily to what the other answer said. We learn on the go, feel stressed, misunderstood or whatever by thw other person reaction, and it takes time to figurw out that these oppositions are in dact different perspectives. However this is cultural and this is as well individual, becaise ain't each if us building our own culture in a way, even inside one or several culture. So it get ti the same point, see the other person take away as alternatives in this world and not fundamentally something against our views or personal. How you guys have been doing with tjese differences? One love. We are on one Planet you know,we can work it out

Thank you both. What an extraordinary conversation! We should be taught this in school. ❤ So many people are children of dysfunctional relationships. How far we have to go.

I was so happy to see that you’d be interviewing one of our great Mexican actors and ecstatic when I learned of your relationship 🎉 I rarely post comments, clearly I had to make an exception. The love is off the charts! 💕 Thank you for this and all of your interviews 😊

These types of things are so important to me because they help me have hope that these good relationships can exist. After a lifetime of abuse and trauma, I'm really working on healing and reframing things, and stuff like this is such a gift on my journey, so thank you

Wow this is awesome VV! It takes a hell of a lot of courage to face your shadow-self and heal the wounds that keep you and happy. I have done much can't sing in group therapy for myself and now I love myself unconditionally more everyday and I am so very deeply grateful that I had the courage to do it. ! Because it is worth it to be able to see the world in a whole different perspective 💕🦄💕

Yes, talk about when things are not in total alignments, love not being enough (which I know is true 😞), boundaries, shared visions conscientiously, also how each partner becomes aware of the other’s reasonable needs without feeling it’s a demand.

After watching this, a year ago, I started to look at my relationships. I started to look for my wounds and in the first place I said that I don't have any ...that this is just not true but then I discovered why I was jealous. I felt like I could not control myself. Thanks to this interview I did what she said. Why getting in these relationships when you could take therapy and heal first before looking for a new relationship. This is how a person can literally change other people's lives, by being authentic and talking from experience and being able to face its own fears, thanks Martha you really saved me by narcissistic men because that was my pattern which I discovered after I dug for a while. 🎉

Me encanta la química que hay entre ustedes, definitivamente este es el amor que toda mujer debe tener, me encanta como se miran y como se admiran. Que Dios los bendiga 🙏 y que llegue a mi un amor así de bonito como el de ustedes ❤.

OMG, I love this! ❤️ I loved especially what you said about your priorities, Lewis! I just wrote a priority list for myself 2 days ago and the first two were the same, in the exact same order, for the same reasons. I've been with my husband for 16 years and we have 4 kids together, but what I realised early on in my life is that you are your first responsibility. Just what Martha said, you cannot take care of others unless you take care of yourself first. But I kind of forgot about it for a while and it took its toll on me. I had to actually grow into that mindset and heal a lot of my trauma (there's still a lot to heal, though...) not just to understand all of this but to have a deep knowing about the truth of it. Really, you've been talking about all my realisations and my journey in healing throughout the whole conversation! This was soooo inspiring and empowering! Thank you so much to both of you for being so authentic! You are role models!❤🙏

So many compliments when ppl do not notice that these two ppl are gorgeous. It really is easy to love and be loved when you are attractive. You are then positive brave and confident. I would like to hear from ppl who do not have all this from the start. How are these ppl going to live?

So many takeaways. Martha's 5 basic wounds was great for identifying myself and others. I definitely spotted mine and could see how I played it out. What a masterful beauty Martha is. Thank you for bringing her on your show Lewis. I learned a lot from you. Your common value of commitment to growth is something I've dream of and you show me that it 's possible.
