The hard, expert and master difficulties are what makes Proseka a rhythm game. As someone who loves a lot of the music in proseka, I rely on only the music to play the game since I turned off note sound effects. It helps me be able to spot subtle changes to the music and appreciate it more compared to if I had just listened to it normally. My advice for people who are stuck just started or stuck on normal or hard is to pick a song you like and learn to use the music to your advantage. It might sound obvious but sometimes we panic mid-song and just tap at the notes instead of properly listening to the music, and from my experience, that usually results in a miss/good/bad. Listening to the song, learn the rhythm and you'll know when to stop tapping when you don't need to. Also, if you're feeling frustrated that you can't full combo a particular song after multiple tries. Save it and play something else, you'll eventually get better and you'll be able to FC that song eventually. P.s. if you're bad a flick notes. Just keep playing, you'll get it eventually (like I did for a month or two...)
@jjaa_joyjoyartist10 ай бұрын
Agreed. Finding a few songs you really like and working your way up on those (while still clearing other songs, just with the goal of getting good enough to beat the ones you like) will help you focus on the music instead of the daunting level number. Children's record and melty land Nightmare were my favorites, and I remember trying so hard to not let the quick bit in normal mode get me in melty land and finally fc it. Then I struggled with the drum beat, but listening to the song is what makes it click. Then your hands get the patterns, then it falls into place

As someone who is pretty good at rhythm games (I have almost 70 master full combos on the JP server), this advice is honestly applicable to all skill levels. When I first started playing Project Sekai, I mostly played expert charts, but I was unhappy with how slow my progress was. It was only once I started playing master and caring LESS about full comboing all the charts I played that I got better. Though an important thing to remember is always why you play in the first place. I love seeing my improvement, so I like to play harder charts and care a lot about getting better, but for someone who just wants to sit back and enjoy the story or music or whatever, they really don't have to get better to have fun. In the end, everyone is playing to have fun, so find out what you like about Project Sekai and enjoy that!

This is a really good explanation for new players! I’ve been playing for about 2 months now, and I’m already decent at the game. My advice is to just keep pushing yourself on harder difficulties until you’re more familiar and confident with them. Works for me!

True, it's definitely good to try harder charts occasionally, but it's not recommended to actually practice charts that are way out of your skill level. It's easy to build up bad muscle memory that way. I'd say it's better to get comfortable with charts that are within your skill level before moving on.
@laoloserr10 ай бұрын
I should clarify Yes 100% I completely agree In general, going way above your skill level does nothing to improve on your abilities But for this video I was talking about the specific case of jumping from normal to hard. Sure everyone is different and I can’t really claim this for 100% of players but for the majority, if you’re pretty comfortable playing normal charts, you can definitely start tackling the low end of “hard” charts
@azurnal757310 ай бұрын
@@laoloserr In that case I completely agree as well.
@Aglassofwater6710 ай бұрын
When is a chart considered way out of your skill level? Are charts that you can beat but just barely and like 1/5 times considered out of your skill level? Or is it only charts that you can't beat at all? Cuz i can do the master mode of "bug" but only once every couple attempts and no matter what i can't get good at the very start nor that one section with the really precise and fast hold notes that go from the far right to far left. Does that mean i should just only do the song when i have a higher skill level and able to do it much more easily?
@laoloserr10 ай бұрын
For me, a song is out of your skill level if you can’t comprehend anything that’s going on. No amount of playing will help you in that case. Either the song is too fast or theres too many notes to process. Stepping out of your comfort zone should be playing songs that you can visually see what the chart maker wants you to do, but you dont have the finger speed / muscle memory to accurately execute it yet.
@azurnal757310 ай бұрын
@@Aglassofwater67 Kind of hard to define this since the game doesn't have an actual scoring system. In my opinion, it's when you notice you're spamming through most of the patterns, basically using the wrong fingerings and not actually reading the chart at all.

Don’t hyper focus on every single note coming your way. *Study* and understand the rhythm and tap the notes that come with the rhythm and lyrics, you do not need your eyes to focus on every note that comes, I mean, it’d be impossible for fast charts. Just do it, understand the rhythm.

Expert charts are much better, and the game experience is greatly improved.

I've never been one to play easy or normal, as yknow, it's... boring as hecc xD. I understand that some people who are new to rhythm games do easy and normal too of course :0. Rhythm games for me tho are like the only games I'm good at so I started on hard charts when I first played it xD. I aint good enough for lots of the master charts yet but expert is pretty easy for me as well now.

I started with hard 22 (yep it was whats up pop) and had a continually dying for about 10 times before I live clear it =)))) after that I just fc every hard in the game (except the yamimabe one), then I do the expert (start with 25 one)

the normal and easy one made me a bit impatient with them

What note speed are you playing on ? You can try maybe increasing by .1 to spread out the notes a bit more !

Thats perfectly fine ! Like I said in the video, don’t let me tell you how to play the game 😅 This video was directed at the people who want to improve their skills, but if you’re happy where you’re at, thats okay too !

Bro you're fine. This vid is for people who are asking "how do I get better". Its mentioned in the start of the vid. Besides its stated many times, you can play the game however you like.

I just play easy and normal now because: 1. COINS. I need to upgrade my items, and these charts give me plenty 2. Because I'm a perfectionist who needs to have all the little crystals lit up. For easy and normal, either have an AP or FC But when I started the game, I went straight for Hard and Expert, due to previous rhythm game experiences

I agree very much! I started in august and i started out playing songs on normal (easy is SO boring🥲) And i couldn’t even pass a level 15 ! But i started to get comfortable after 1 month of playing and i think hard difficulty is very beneficial to learning skill and getting rewards for the work you put in! It helps with learning the rhythm because it’s on beat more too! I’ve seen a great increase in my skill since november and i even fced a song on master since then! I think for the first 1-2 months easy and normal are perfectly normal to play, but you should step out of our comfort zone whenever normal gets too boring. :3
