Car Builders Peel & Stick Heat Shield is the highest quality heat shield material currently available on the market. Constructed from a needle punched fibreglass with a polyester core it comes complete with a super tough aluminium face. This product will not separate or pull apart like other products on the market. The product is so good that leading automotive manufactures use it on production vehicles.
Our Peel & Stick Heat Shield Light is easy to form. As the top aluminium lay is thinner (0.05mm), this product suits applications where greater versitility is required such as on uneven or irregular surfaces such as under bonnet, motorcycle farings, innner guards, air boxes, batteries and anything that requires greater formability.
For applications over flater surfaces or near exhaust systems and heat elements use our Peel & Stick Heat Shield Heavy (0.25mm aluminium thickness) . Unsure which product to use? Watch our KZbin clips below.
The product has been oven test for 30 hours with no failure at 475ºF (246ºC)
Our Peel & Stick Heat Shield has a unique pressure sensitive adhesive making it easy and versatile to install, particularly in tight spaces. It is widely used as a thermal and acoustical barrier in many industries and works effectively to block heat around fuel tanks/systems, tunnel shields, floor pans, exhaust systems, body shields, transmissions, fluid lines and to protect non ferrous materials.
Features/Advantages
Light Weight
Easily formed into place
Very effective in limited space
Approved at several major OEM's
Acoustical sound deadening benefits without the squeak or rattle issues of stampings
Interior or exterior applications
Easy installation - just peel off the release liner and adhere to surface

Interesting. Could you use this on the undercarriage of a 79 and 78 series ? What other products are suitable for installation underneath ?

Hi Ade. Yes, this can be used externally. There are two versions, 'Lite' and 'Heavy'. The heavier has a thicker aluminium face and is better suited to areas that will be impacted by road rash. 👍

Can you use it on a fuel tank?

Hi Randy. Yes, you can. If you can stand off an embossed heat shield it is best, however if you don't have space you would use the peel and stick. We used a combination in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4TSY6yfmZ1smLM

@Car Builders, I'm not sure if this is the right product but would appreciate your insight! I need a product to help lower or mitigate heat in my engine bay, would this material be appropriate to place on the underside of my hood?? I've seen people use sound deadening material on the hood and make mention it can help with temp or products like this, so figured you guys would know exactly what's right or wrong to do when attempting to reduce heat soak/lower engine bay temps?!

Hi J H. Thanks for the question. Sound deadener is not an effective product to reduce heat, it will knock out somewhere around 5°C-10°C (you can use pads of it in the hood but with the aim of reducing panel vibration not to use heat issues). A peel and stick heat shield by comparison will knock out a huge percentage of heat. The only issue is it may not look aesthetically pleasing. A bonnet insulation pad will reduce some heat and look more factory. So it comes down to how much heat you are looking to reduce, by far the most effective is the peel and stick heat shield but if you motor is stock you could use a bonnet insulation material. Good luck with your project.

@@carbuilders1 Thank you so much for the help. Based off my needs and mods, I certainly need the peel and stick to help reduce heat in the engine bay. So if you guys are willing to help, where can someone such as myself in the US buy the right type of peel and stick heat shield?? Hope to hear from you all soon, respectfully - JH

Thinking of putting this on the firewall and transmission tunnel of my 4wd and was wondering how it would hold up to being submerged in muddy water in terms holding that water and causing rust or something like that

Can I use it as a turbo blanket? Can the adhesive stick to hot turbos?
@carbuilders1
@carbuilders1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gre Tre. For best results you will need a turbo blanket and ceramic coat turbo. The Peel & Stick is designed to face the heat source and protect it by reflecting and insulting the heat from hitting the component etc. 👍
