Had first some range time to get hold of this fix and applied it yesterday on the course: did not have a single one of my usual monster hooks. I haven't used my irons because of the hook, but now even sank a birdie after a long 4i approach. Just a superb, simple fix that worked for me better than I could have dreamed. Highly recommended if you are hooking your irons. Many thanks Chris!

Crushing it with this tip... was hooking everything... now straight.. using the same concept for my half shots...

This video and one bucket of balls at the range completely fixed my swing that I’ve been struggling with for the last 6 weeks. Couldn’t be more grateful🥹

“Get the grip against the wall” such a helpful phrase to remember on the course. Your teaching style is great, thanks for sharing these tips! 🏌🏾♂️

My hook got out of control. Watched this vid last nite. Realized I was over-rotating my arms. Tried it at the range today. Worked like a charm for irons, wedges, fwy woods, and driver. Ball straightened out, even had a slight fade which is controllable, although a slight distance loss, which I will happily take in return for keeping it in the fairways. Thank you for a great drill and feel.

Great video. The drill actually made me hit fades but after a while I was hitting it straight. It’s similar to a tip that Bryson gave which was to keep the left hand low through impact but this describes it clearer and explains where the club head should be.

Great advice. I have been struggling with this mainly with my 5,6 and 7 irons. I’m good with my shorter irons.

i was the same, 8 iron and up would go straight but everything 7 and under including driver were hooking.

I'd recently strengthened my left hand & started hitting a pretty severe pull-hook with my long irons. I'm fortunate enough to have a sim & the "face up" suggestion was spot on. Honestly it's rare to find a quick fix for a swing issue on KZbin but this one was EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks man, very much appreciated. Btw, I'm a loyal viewer & the content is excellent.

Thank you so much!!! I’ve been hooking my irons to the left of where I’m aiming every time, and couldn’t figure out why...So I searched KZbin and found this video, and you were right, I was hitting with my club face too closed....I opened my club face up to what you recommended, and hit 100 balls this morning, and 90 of them when relatively straight (little bit plus/minus, of course!) towards my target. I also focused on my swing path and where the club was finishing, and when I played today, I took 7 strokes off my course average, and that was mostly down to your tips here. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Thanks Chris. Great Vid. i have gone up from 5.5 to 7.5 handicap and feel that this video will get me back down again as i have developed a powerful hook with all my clubs. It is very annoying to miss greens and tight fairways on a regular basis , so will give your technique a go... cheers.

This helped me so much. I was really struggling with hooks on irons and was trying so many things to fix. Did this drill and starting “pure-ing” everything. I don’t hook the driver often, and it fades a bit. Any thought on whether this swing thought should accompany the driver?

Looks a great drill Chris. Will give it a try. Can the same concept apply to the Driver/3 Wood etc .. Just watched your video of your shot to the 7th at Aphrodite hills. Tempo looks great. As I live in Cyprus and played that hole many times .. I will try and take an extra club and improve my tempo. Enjoy your stay in Cyprus

Hey Chris. I've developed low toe hooks with my irons. I know this drill is good for my path and face control. do you think will help my strike to move more towards the center of the face as well? Keep up the great work

I went from a slice to a buttery fade and then to a draw and now I’m hooking ever iron. Gotta love this game. Driver and 3W still go straight or fade drives me nuts.

This is brilliant, straightened me right out, will I eventually start fading and slicing the ball if I maintain this feeling though?
@Patchkaa334 жыл бұрын
Ian Worsfold nah , as long as your club face is square you’ll it straight to slight shots which it not a bad thing!

Hey Chris, Do you have any tips on how I can get my natural fade dialed in? My 4 iron fades a lot to the right. But my PW barely fades. Could it be my stance (distance) from the ball?
