I went through this with Shadow of the Colossus when it first came out. My friends were like "So it's just a bunch of huge boss fights and all you have is a sword and bow and arrows?" Not interested..until I let them borrow it, then they needed coaching for certain bosses they were stuck on because they "had to know how it ended". That was all before it was a PS2 Greatest Hit or remastered so I feel a sense of pride like I helped build that count to make it a Greatest Hit for PS2

Up to this day Dragon Quest 8: the journey of the cursed king, is my favourite game. Period. I play through it about once a semester. The Story is amazing and touching, I love the styling and the round-based fighting. The squad is very likable (especially Jessica ;) ) and so are many of the characters you pass by, even Marcelo to some extent. I love that game, but somehow people don't seem to care when I talk about it.

Thank you for the Battlefield 1 bit. I was hook at the moment "More than 60 million soldiers fought in the war to end all wars. It ended nothing" poped into the screen. I did the campaign/ war stories in less than 2 days after the game came out. I was amazed at the story telling of these events. After recommended it to everybody I knew. Almost nobody tried it and I was sad.

I was lucky to get my hands on NieR:Automata and I was a year late. It sold out everywhere in Ireland, so I had to order it off Amazon UK. I don't regret it, I loved the game. I also got Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, I loved it too, because it's more focused on story, the psychology and a little bit of Norse Mythology than the actual combat. The combat was simple and easy to grasp, and so, by end of my second gameplay, I managed to understand the ending. It was pretty moving, like NieR:Automata. It actually made me question my actions, that I was fighting in a useless war and I felt betrayed when I learned *SPOILERS on second playthrough* that mankind was extinct long ago. I had to swallow that I was played like a fiddle.

Dylan Fox Umhh. If you want to play a really engaging story.. this game is really good for that! All 3 lead characters are really well made and relatable. The game looks phenomal. The platinum is pretty easy. You can replay the story a gazzillion times.

The story is excellent though heavy handed. People will try to call it clunky or nonsensical but I personally think that there is only one real plot point that is like that and the rest is pretty engaging. I've been looking forward to it for years and it's the only game I could get my girlfriend to play with me because of how instantly entertaining it is.

Dave went through the same thing with his girlfriend and I know others who have got their partners, who normally wouldn't care about video games at all, to sit down and get involved, they are genunily exacted for the next time they can pick it up and play a chapter or two. I find they just help bridge that gap for some people and with Detroit's 'easy mode' they don't even have to stress over those QTEs - Hollie

I love rpgs and i have played more than i can count since playing Phantasy Star in 88. Dragon Quest is my favorite series in the rpg realm. It always has great story telling and it never strays from the formula that is perfect for that style of rpg. If somethings not broke don't fix it.

I think it's because the Dragon Quest series as a whole is kind of have a cult following in the west. They're not as popular as FF and Fire Emblem, which is why we haven't seen a console release for an official DQ game since DQ8. Hopefully DQ11 will change that.

If you don't mind escape room puzzles and love a great story then Zero Escape is a series for you. It has arguably one of the best stories in all of media, its just so good.

Rowan Brocklesby I agree. People love it because they grew up watching it but it's really not that good. Dragonball and Dragonball Z are still pretty good, but Dragonball Super is complete garbage.

Dragon Quest XI is my most anticipated game of the year, and the wait until I pick it up later is killing me. DQVIII on ps2 is still my favorite, mainly because everything Level 5 does is amazing. But hopefully DQXI will be just as good.

Crypt of the NecroDancer is so awesome and unique with a GREAT electronic soundtrack. A Way Out might be the best co-op game. And Hollie, thank you for choosing Detroit, I'm in the middle of it, and I LOVE it. I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it since I kind of found Heavy Rain a bit boring. I was literally about to make the same suggestion until you chose it. Cheers!

Me and a mate have this arrangement that like if there is a game and it's like a must have, or must try it. We say, you know try it and if you dont like it I'll give you the money back so there is really no real reason not to. And it kinda makes you think is this really worth suggesting because if they dont it comes back on you

Played lords of the fallen once but i find it a lot slower (in terms of combat) and game itself is not very long,i guess its a good game for begginers in soulslike rpg games...

I miss the days where they just had the friday feature and occasionally a random video. They were well made and spread out content at a good pace for consumption. Something happened and now the channel feels like spam. Rob went from a fun loving guy to this ego for a while. Now he just seems sad. This is why we can't have nice things. Just let the crew have fun and output a creation from themselves. That everyone WANTS to see. That had made me love playstation for having this channel at the time.

When I first bought Witcher 3, I wasn't sure whether I'd enjoy a massive medieval fantasy RPG. But man was I wrong!! Here I am with close to 300 hours of monster slaying, gwent playing, horse riding, romancing and most importantly finding pans for old ladies! It's always worth it to give a new genre a try.

Man absolutely MASSIVE dragon quest fan. DQ8 is in my top 5 games of all time, played it when I was young and must have finished it 10 or so times, was so keen to play another dragon quest I even brought a DS to play 4, 5 and 9. Just wanna say I am so psyched to finally play another full Dragon quest on console and I feel like a little kid on Christmas.
