I have a 55gal tank and just use a huge tube that fastens to my kitchen faucet, which then directly pours all the water it sucks out down the drain. It’s so much more convenient for me but I assume it would be a bit much for smaller tanks lol

When I clean my fish tank I do not suck the tube just to get the water from the tank to flow to the tube I just keep on putting the tube in then out till there is water flowing in it.

This works great but I've always found that it only takes less than 3 seconds to syphon by putting the end of the hose to the mouth but wait!!! ....you don't have to actually put the end of the hose directly against your lips... Remember, all you're trying to accomplish is creating a continuous 'sealed ' suction between the water column and the outlet end of the hose. Once the water starts to travel up the hose (clear plastic rubber hose works great for this reason) you should have plenty amount of time to pull the hose away from your face and aim it to wherever it needs to go long before you get a gulp of bio in the mouth!😂

I remembered a two years ago when our country was strucked by a hurrican and my room became an indoor swimming pool and I was cleaning it and found a random small hose in our frontyard with gunk and stuff inside the tube. I used it to make a functional natural pressure by using the sipping method and boy I didn't realize it sooner that it taste like gasoline dirt and a lot of chemical compunds and the fact that the water was 1 inch deep was just lazy to be drained that way 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
