Good to point that out. These losers do it to everyone on all popular channels. Considering how stringently KZbin censors, you would think they cared....but no. People should be aware that this is not only on Karen't channel. Anytime you get a reply looking like the channel owner wants you to contact them just rep[ort it, and know its scammers.

I haven’t changed style in almost 30 years. At 53 I’m still in Doc’s, washed-out denim, linen shirts and large bags. Very monochrome: white, black, army/moss green, grey, beige and, at times, some form of blue. I style with only chunky silver jewellery, large sunglasses, large scarves and black leather bracelets (haven’t worn a watch in 40 years) and a black shoe. The only think that’s changed is my weight and length of hair. Originally a redhead, I’m now sporting natural curls which are pale ginger with silver highlights. I am a 36GG boob and was nodding when you spoke about large breasts - there are SO many things to consider when you’re large chested. I very rarely button-up a shirt or wear a high neck t-shirt or top due to this. I’m also a bit of a short-arse (at 5’3”) and can’t walk in heels. But you know what? I’ve made it work and I’m very happy in myself and always comfortable. You have a stunning style and it’s easy to see that you’re comfortable in it. I’m sure you have tried, but how are you in a kitten heel? You mentioned that you like the 50’s and 60’s. A kitten heel would fit into that category. Especially worn with a structured bag. The silk reference takes me back. My favorite coat of all time was a bright red, calf length silk coat. It was gorgeous and perfect even in winter where I live due to the weather. I kept that coat as long as I possibly could because it was so much of a one of a kind. I miss that coat so much.

I bought a pair of 2010's YSL TribToo heels... the 6" ones. As a fashion item I love them with all my heart, but I physically, literally cannot walk in them. The heels are only 3 something because of the platform but the stiletto is so close to the outer sole it's like walking on tiptoes inside of a sky-hight platform. 😭😭 My point is not everything you love has to become your style, but your style should be all the things you love!!

In my teens and early adulthood I always had heels on!!! I’m very short, so it gave me a lift and it looks so good!! That was also before it’s was accepted to wear sneakers at clubs. I stopped wearing heels, after stopping going to clubs. And now, I only have one pair of heels left - and I never wear them. Not even to weddings or parties 🤯 They are just not comfortable.

I rarely comment but I always watch your KZbin videos. They are all so amazing but this one really resonated with me and was exceptional. I love your point about choosing your personal style over trends. I feel like I have been doing that for a very long time but I do find myself falling victim to trends and those items typically get worn once or twice. I have been trying to be more eco conscious of my fashion purchases and has helped me find my way back to see my personal style. Especially when it comes to shoes. The part of the video where you talked about the shoes versus the boots was ridiculously on point! Something I struggle with but I’m trying to move forward with that same mentality. I don’t wear heels and I can’t wear high platforms no matter how much I have tried over the years. And the last part where you talked to Michael just warmed my heart. I have the same blue silk shirt. I picked it out and had my husband buy it for me for Christmas. I think I’m ready for another one this Christmas. I need to start looking for another color. I sleep on silk pillowcases. Not Lilysilk, but it doesn’t help my hair at all. I wake up with a faux hawk. I have short hair and it just flattens and sticks up. I’m a rough sleeper.I could never wear those shoes. I would break my neck. I think I know my own style. I’m a 63 year old woman. So if I don’t know yet. I’m in trouble. I know this is a partnership with Lily silk and I love silk but for Summer it’s linen for me. Silk can stick to u when you’re sweating and shows sweat stains in a 100 degree weather.

And if you happen to get cheap silk it creases terribly - you have to know your fabrics these days. I always check content labels and am trying to teach my daughters to do the same. In fact, it really gets my goat when I see merino wool with an acrylic mix … Why are they doing this, charging merino wool prices but 50% acrylic - which just brings it right down … I really hate acrylic 😂😂

Another fantastic and super helpful video. Thank you 😊 I totally get the struggle with heels. I have a few pairs of heels. Rounded toes, one with a bit of a platform ….. blah blah blah …. But I, too, am a chunky shoe/boot kinda gal and will grab those 99% of the time. However, I do have two pairs of heels that I gravitate to that I have had for a good 20 (!!) years now and I got them at Walmart of all places. (They’re beginning to show their age so they need replacing but I haven’t found replacements yet so I’m hanging on to them ….) They are pointy toed kitten heels. One in a pale nude and one patent black. They just have total Audrey. Hepburn classic 50’s 60’s vibe to them. They are soooo comfortable to wear. Can seriously wear them for hours and hours without that god awful pain heels usually inflict. And they just always always ALWAYS look “right” on me. With slacks, jean, skirts, dresses, shorts .. whatever it is I am wearing that I feel l NEED a heel for, or just want to switch it out from my usual chunky options, I wear them. I have one pair of like a satin-y black mule with a kitten heel and I love them as well. I dunno … just thought since you love the structured 50’s and 60’s bags and a lot of your style is very similar to mine, maybe going in that direction instead of the super high/chunky heeled high heels might give you that completely different look you’re searching for.

A platform shoe is definitely not part of my personal style. Polyester fabrics are very hot definitely not breathable. The silk button up looks nice on you but I barely wear button ups 🙃 Meanwhile my brim is my jam, shades elevate everything. Great tips. I love the oversized look but I noticed I don't feel comfortable in big clothes, I often dress in one color and it's my favorite thing to wear. Vintage is great in any outfit if the individual understands their own style.

Those Valentino platforms didn't look like your style at all. I thought I was looking at Cassie's shoes as that's what she rocks and really naturally. I'm glad that you got back into your own style, like the tabi boots. But, we all fall into a trap or two of, "What was I thinking when I bought that/those?" I love the big platform shoes, but stay out of them as they're not for me now. Been there, done that back in the 70s. My grandmother always said, "You can wear style, but don't let style wear you and every(body) can't wear everything." My mom also still says the same thing. I grew up on that saying. As for Lily Silk, the cashmere turtlenecks are the best. I have them in all of the colors that they were made in. I don't think you need heels! I recently realized that I don't need them, even though they're on almost every fashion essentials list. I have a few pairs that have sat untouched in my closet for years. In the summer I wear dressy sandals or platform espadrilles. In the winter I choose boots or booties. I think figuring out your personal style is an ever changing journey of breaking and leaning rules that work for you! 💃

I actually picked up a pair of black patent Mary Jane platforms in the recent Nordstrom sale because they were only $50 and seemed like a easy way to try out the trend! Hiya Karen! Great tips as usual! As far as platforms go, the most comfortable ones I own are Prada (about a decade or so ago they did a great chunky suede platform sandal I picked up 2 pairs @ Woodbury Common for under $20 each as they were the last pairs in my tiny size😬, I’ll find the name if you like), Miu Miu, YSL, Louboutin. Me and the H sleep on silk pillow cases. Stops us waking up with Dr Frankenstein ‘scars’ from creases on cotton pillowcases. Also good for my dry Celt curls.
