I made a 7’1 center that has high rebounding and high pass accuracy and I win games when I have teammates that understand how to get a stop and run in transition. I feel the running in transition is the simplest and easiest concept for 2k players to understand since everybody wants to score in bunches and the game is really that simple as a solo center. By the end up game I wind up with more assists than the PG most the time while I score single digits. 😂

I'd argue it's more important than the PG or tied because if your paint is sweet & you're getting killed on the glass, I don't care how good the PG is; how is he going to show it if the big can't get a rebound? I have so many videos on my page doing this very thing. The other team was good; they had a good PG, but the fact I killed the big 9-25 on rebounds means my lesser team wins. Not all metas are for the best of the best. At the end of the day, meta just means the most optimal (easiest) way to win. The advice I’d give to someone who actually wants to get better at the game is to focus on fundamentals and get those down before you start to progress. Be able to consistently guard your guy, be able to hit most of your open shots, and don’t be so focused on scoring that you become a bad playmaker. Your build is a big part of your play style. If you mostly play with randoms, don’t make a build that needs teammates (I.E. 5’9s, pure locks, or pure inside centers if you don’t know how to use them). If you have a group of people to play with then none of this matters, as long as everyone’s builds mesh well together.

I have a SF that’s 6’8” and I make my player to play like me in real life. I love to play defense and I love passing and I don’t mind taking on tough assignments. I can play all around but I can hang with most bigs so guarding 7 footers isn’t a problem and I can guard quick 6 footers too. I only get my buckets within the flow of the game and only iso if my team asks me to. There’s too many players that listen to 2K KZbinrs and try an just dunk all day or jack it up from half court all game

I agree with you man. Im not great at the game but I LOVE basketball. I have 3 builds and each one is set for a different play style. My guard is a solid spot up shooter, my small forward is great at perimeter defense and slashing that is great at passing too (84) , and my center can grab boards, fade off picks, and is solid in the paint. I started getting way better at this game when I focused on a few jobs to get wins. I hate losing. I don’t care if I have 6-10 points if I’m contributing in other ways too.

They force playstyles they know aren't for them, trying to be cool or fit in. People in the 2k community follow trends instead of setting them. Rarely do you see innovation or different I go out of my way to go against meta every year. None of my builds would be considered meta, but for me they are. That's how people should think, like men were designed to.

There are objectively bad builds but I agree with people not maximizing their playstyles. It’s even more prevalent if you have a 5 man. I prefer being a spot up shooter so that’s what I made. What I don’t like is our big making a 7ft but sits on the 3. He’s also bad at rebounding

I can’t lie I made a 2 way slashing shot with 99 driving dunk build with maxed out shooting & I be having much fun, the most fun I’ve had so far on this game. I’ve had multiple 30 point games with em while making sure we win. He’s fast, strong, can handle the ball, and play defense. The only downside is passing but hear me out…. As a person who has played with 60 pass accuracy for the last 3 years it's not even the rating that prevents them from passing its lack of basketball IQ and selfishness you'll be shocked how many times that person with the low pass could it just started the wide open Mercy in the corner but instead they say to themselves I should have gotten a contact dunk. I've played with a 60 pass accuracy the whole year so far I averaged five assists at the wing and one turnover it's not past accuracy that's keeping people from passing the ball it's their mentality their selfish their. Think about it a shooting really that hard only a selfish person makes a wing that can't shoot in 2024. Even if all you're going to put on your buildings at 73 isn't that better than nothing I have a 73 on my bill I take about 1 maybe 2 3-pointers a game because I'm mostly a slasher but I'm also a knockdown shooter if you decide to sag offer me I will turn from Vince Carter to Stephen Curry right before your eyes and that's with a 70 3 ball. There is no reason to not be able to shoot in 2024. Aside from I'm playing on bad Wi-F. People who make wings that can't shoot or selfish. So don't be shocked when they do sailfish s*** on the court

1st, I appreciate your feedback; this is good for the community to see real players perspectives, but you're speaking from a player with skill & IQ & years of playing 2k. I'm speaking to the entire community, which is made up of the majority of casual I just got off work; let me walk in type players. They cannot afford to do such a thing as play with 60% pass accuracy; they will throw plenty of turnovers. Regarding 3-point shooting, I agree. I feel every build outside a dominant center with 99 rebounding and athleticism with 93 or better passing is the only exception because it helps empower the jack 3s playstyle, but that's my perspective. I come to understand people playing to their strengths is better than trying to force the entire community into a playstyle. That's how we got dudes out here shooting 2-13 from 3. It happens to me every day because he's trying to fit in instead of just doing whatever it is he's good at. If you have a set squad, this may not make sense to you, but as a player out here solo for the last 2 years, this is just my opinion after playing with such a large percentage of the community. But in my own set squad, I prefer 4 out of 1 dominate big in or 5 out, which all comp 2k players know are the only 2 true meta lineups. Blessings ✨️

Been doing this for YEARS. I used to play pg every year and this year I finally moved to the 2 guard as a secondary playmaker, 3pt Shooter, slasher & defender. The only thing I’m struggling with is the lack of trust with other pgs. I noticed when they fuck up I always bail them out. Then when I get the team in line and get the team going, they start to put me on ice and I don’t touch the ball for literally 10 mins and by then it’s too late because I don’t even want to help no more. Also why do yall make these center/pgs and try to play guard? That’s mad annoying to a guard when yall see us in the backcourt and throw the ball down court like we wasn’t there. Last thing for now is LEARN TO USE THE FUCKING ICONS. Y’all get on and literally just press A/X and be missing cutters and wide open shooters and then be like “my bad” yeah it is mf learn how to icon pass, its game changing. You bigs that like to rebound and go up 5 times on 3 people is because your big dumb ass don’t know how to icon pass.

Agreed with your points. The only time I'll now pass it to the PG is after he has proven to not be competent. That's not one mistake or one quarter. I give a PG a chance to play his game before I say anything . I play to win if the PG is helping us do i, so I will demand to the rest of the team to give him the ball. I have 2 SGs as well, so everything you said I go through daily. I won't even play Rec on my guard it's no point to be the only dude on the team that can shoot . I only play Proving grounds on my guards Rec I use my center. Appreciate your feedback, blessings 🙏🏾

@ bro I haven’t had a match in the proving grounds yet. It seems like nobody plays it on the west coast server. I can only get games on the rec or theater. But I’m the same way. I play to win. If I have 5 pts I’m cool with it and I’ll shut my match up down. It’s the PF shooting 2/8 the pg shooting 1/10 and quitting that irks me and makes me frustrated.

Appreciate your feedback. I disagree. I kill shooting centers every day on my Snag Mahomes build with randoms. They can't rebound, nor can they shoot 40-45% from 3; that isn't shooting vs. a board count of 9 to 25. If that's what fits you, cool, but to say all centers need to shoot is completely wrong, and the entire comp community will disagree. The inside center is extremely dominant this year, or I wouldn't be a starter 5 in elite.

@@PraviMVP I don’t care what the comp community says. When u put them w/ randoms they lose the same amount as everyone else. & I was speaking specifically on hooping w randoms. Most of the inside centers I play get dogged, once that paint mash bs don’t work they’re useless on offense. I got footage on my channel going 29/19/9 against an inside. I spanked an inside w/ 99 standing dunk & gave him 18&18 the other day, 3/4 from 3. Got footage carrying in 3s to a W just shooting. My versatile enforcer has the D to stop most inside bigs & I shoot like a stretch. Shooting bigs can be put into any system and succeed, insides can not. If you are a dominant inside it works, most these insides are not dominant.
