Lately, I've been really concerned and frustrated with the way internet content creation has been going. Nobody seems to make videos or do things for fun anymore, its always "for the content". In today's video, I'll be explaining why I think that "content" is a word we need to stop using if the internet is ever going to stop being commodified. "Content" like what you're referring to, is the main reason I stopped making videos so often. Once I realized that was what the world wanted to see, I just lost interest. I don't want to be a blog. I want to pursue a creative endeavor.

I think the worst type of content I've seen in this platform or Twitch is when content creators consume media they clearly hate and are miserable by consuming it, but it's for the content so they have to do it or the "I spent x amount of money for y"

@MattCMG I will say your editing is slightly awkward and some of your gags seem like you're trying too hard to be funny, but GREAT VIDEO. Even though you're a little tryhard & clearly riffing idubbbz/Chris Ray Gun, I really appreciate a lot of your content...err, art. You know why? Because underneath it all, YOU SEEM SINCERE. You seem honest. You don't act like you have anything to hide. Especially in this video, it feels personal. Like you're having a REAL conversation with the viewer. It feels like I'm just listening to one of my buddies, y'know? It feels raw. You're trying hard to be "funny" because you want to make a GOOD video, but it feels just like a friend who tries a little too hard to be funny. You're not the funniest, most concise, or most genius KZbinr out there (though you make many good points and clearly think for yourself). You just seem...sincere. And we have a MASSAGE void of sincerity in our society. I think part of that is LITERALLY because sincerity is looked down upon and seen as "cringe". Society sees you as "lacking self-awareness" "awkward" "not reading the room" but combined with social atomization and other factors like political polarization, unhealthiness, the gig economy, dogshit dating scene that makes it impossible to find someone worthwhile (Tinder, Bumble, etc) and you're considered "creepy" for approaching someone in real life... ...people don't ALLOW other people to be sincere. Sincerity is awkward. It's messy, controversial, and makes you THINK. But it's not "cool", it's "cringe". So we all have to feel like masking crazy people all the time. It's not good. Anyway, MattCMG SORRY for the long rant but I REALLY appreciate your unfiltered sincerity as an oasis in the desert of fakeness! I've been subscribed to you since 2K subs, hope you grow more!
