Hearing these views on periods is so relatable. I get absolutely horrible cramps and all the incredibly painful symptoms I can think of on my period and my entire life I have not had one employer or even one family member who has said its ok to take time off when your feeling this way. They all say to just suck it up. I remember at one of my first jobs I tried to just be upfront with my employer (in a professional way) about how I may need a day or two of time off some months because I get debilitating cramps. He said I could not have that because "he might need me there when I'm sick". This still enrages me today. I know my pain is valid. It's literally too excruciating not to be but it sucks when people tell you to push through pain thats that intense. Ug.

I'm 13, I have a period illness known as Endometriosis, (search up for definition) basically I might not be able to have kids in the future because of it which is really sad, my sister can't have kids, but my mum somehow managed to have kids (Endometriosis is a thing that runs through the family and will continue to run through the family, 1 of 10 woman suffer from it) periods absolutely suck, I want to have kids when I'm older, but I can't get the proper surgery (due to financial reasons) If one man comes up to you and tells you "periods aren't that bad", here is a free 'kick him in the face' pass, from me :) stay safe ladies X

I have a condition called Dysmenorrhea. It causes my periods to be unbelievably painful. Plus there would be no warning. I start my period and for the first bit of the day I'm fine then in the snap of a finger I'm crying in pain. And all I can do to get rid of it it sooooo much pain meds and try to sleep. I'm so happy that Colleen comes on the internet and talk about women's experiences and struggles. It helps young women like my self feel better about what I go through. Thank you Colleen! I really would love for someone, even if it isn't Colleen, to please explain this to me. Why on Earth does one think it's better to hire a third person to pick up their drive through?!?!?! I can understand someone picking up your groceries since they are going inside the store... but if you drive to McDonald's to get your own food, you'd be taking the middle man out of the equation and preventing another person from handling your food! Because you’re coming into contact with other people if you go through yourself. When you have things delivered, you can get contactless delivery where the driver leaves it on your porch. You can then wipe down the items, etc. COVID is slightly airborne so having things delivered is a way to avoid exposure in that way as well.

Kory even opened the door for the "handsome" man delivering the Bachelor items, so clearly they aren't always receiving it contactless. And as soon as another person (the deliverer) takes it, it's no longer contactless. Here in Florida, one person puts the food in the bag, closes it with tape or staples, and it goes in a bin to be passed to the patron, the deliverer never even touches the bag. So yes, your adding another person breathing around your food and getting it cold and late. Who knows how much time it spends in the car with the driver who is possibly driving without their mask on!

I watched the drive-thru worker take cash from the car in front of mine, hand that driver their change and food, and then it was my turn. I sat there and watched the worker swipe my credit card, and while she was waiting for the receipt to print she turned around and filled my soda, touching the lid on both sides before putting it on my cup, AFTER touching cash and credit card! She had gloves on, but what good do they do if you're handling cash and credit cards! This is a gross practice under normal circumstances, but especially during pandemic. Needless to say, I poured the drink out when I got home. I think they should alway have someone handling payments only, and someone else handling food and drinks.

I had covid during thanksgiving, but luckily my case wasn’t very bad. I got it from my aunt, who is a schoolteacher, at my church choir practice. That next week like seventeen out of 22 of us got it. It’s so weird how it effects everyone differently, thats for sure! We all had different symptoms and some were basically asymptomatic while one was hospitalized. I can’t wait until this is all over!
