Democracy Now! spoke with Minnesota Congressmember Ilhan Omar late Wednesday outside the Democratic National Convention, where members of the “uncommitted” movement launched a sit-in to demand a Palestinian American be allowed to address the convention from the main stage. Omar said she joined protesters outside the DNC because “there is no compassion in turning our heads away from the piles of dead bodies” in Gaza. “A ceasefire is only possible if we use every leverage that we have, and the biggest leverage that we have is to stop sending bombs,” says Omar, explaining why she is calling for an arms embargo against Israel and an end to “this genocidal war.”

Ahmad Kahalot, Director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalaya in Northern Gaza revealed that Hamas has turned hospitals into military facilities under their control Adwan states he was recruited to Hamas in 2010 as a Brigadier General, and there are doctors, nurses, paramedics, staff members who are military operatives of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. Kahalot described how Hamas uses hospitals for military purposes such as hiding its operatives, carrying out military activity, moving around Hamas members. Kahalot warned Hamas feels safe to hide in hospitals. He says he knows 16 hospital employees-- doctors, nurses, paramedics -- who are members of al--Qassam. Inside the hospital, Hamas has private offices, interrogation rooms, special internal security, and private telephone lines. Hamas has it's own ambulance, painted differently without a license plate. Kahalot stated Hamas would not help to transport the injured. He stated he begged them to transport a patient to another hospital, but Hamas refused. He states: "The leaders of Hamas are cowards. They left us in the field while they hide in secret places. They have destroyed us."

As I understand the term and idea behind "uncommitted," it can be seen as being open to casting a vote to whomever ends up aligning with your cause. My question would then be: did the uncommitted activists ask to speak at the RNC and/or have they worked to talk at a Trump rally? It seems a bit disingenuous to say on one hand you're uncommitted until a party does the thing you're asking them to do, but not then holding each party to the same account. At the same time, it's a shame that the DNC couldn't have had a family member of Palestinians who could bring a voice and face to the gravity of the situation just like they allowed the family of a hostage to be there. On a side note, if I hear one more line about "ensuring that Israel is safe and has its right to defend..." Yea, okay, a genocide is not a defense.

The ISIS - like massacre of Hebron was documented and can be seen in photos in NYT archives. Similar to the gut-wrenching photos of Oct 7 massacre.
