Stop Skimmer Overflows - Neptune Systems Tech Tip 001

In this first of many Tech Tips, Terence shows how to set up your Skimmer in APEX Fusion so that it does not overflow when the return pump turns off or when power is restored to the aquarium after a power failure.

I am new to reefing and was told that if you have a skimmer with the DC pump that it is very hard on the pump if you turn it on and off for the feed cycle. Is there any way to code an outlet to throttle these pumps down and not fully shut them off. I have a red sea reefer, 600 with a DC pump.

Can both of the suggestions exist together in the same configuration? I have apex jr. and am getting this as the allowable code from the video: 1 fallback OFF 2 set ON 3 if outlet pump = OFF then OFF 4 defer 3:00 then ON 5 if power apex OFF 003 then OFF

On the Apex 2016, you must have the skimmer switch on your dashboard set to AUTO for this to work...

Programmed this into my system & my skimmer cup doesn't overflow at feeding time any more on my Nuvo-24. Thanks for the tip.

+Manny Guzman +Neptune Systems, Shouldn't that power outage command be "OFF" instead of "Off"? I know the Apex command syntax is case sensitive, and I have only ever seen "OFF" in all caps.

why code its a bit behind times like dos you should have timers built into system so you can set delays with simple digital timer

Terry I will suggest to make a newer video because I try to do what you explain in this video on the apex 2016 and it doesn’t work as a matter fact you contact support told me to erase that sentence because it won’t work and this is as per they respond to me after a day of going back and forth with emails Btw contact support was really useful and fast
