It’s funny how one (1) trans person does one (1) bad thing and the phobes use it as justification against all trans people but a single (1) divorced man (or woman) does a single (1) crime and no one bats an eye or uses it as justification for marriages.

This exactly! Shes cis, and it's so cruel to lie about that to paint the trans community as bad when almost all the shooters have been men and more importantly so many of the shooters have very bigoted views on marginalized groups (which i think is more of the problem!)

It is very sad. They blame it on trans-folk because the bigoted public will be more likely to belive that. And why? Only because they hate people for being different. This is so sad to see, it shouldn't be like that, and it makes me want to cry.

It also plays into the stereotype that only guys are violent criminals by having transphobes say that the shooter was a “former boy”. (I’m not transphobic srry if it sounded like that)

Its true that no one should care. However, trans people are being used as a scapegoat in this situation. Some of the stigma comes from media portrayals of trans people as dangerous perverts. It’s so sad.
