Never in a million years did I believe this. Had a pga pro feel sorry for me at the range today. had me doing this after slicing a sand wedge and hitting thin. Lolol. Had me put ball foward, open stance, chase the ball. He sayed don’t change your swing it’s your swing change the ball. Mind blown 🤯. Litterally 2 balls later I was hitting straight. 9-3iron. We did drill with various irons. All for free just to prove the point. After the fact he went into details. Said most people get hung up on what they are suppose to do and forget to hit the ball....immediately stoped blocking, allowed me to turn /rotate the hips. Full swing. All with out thinking about it. Golf is 95 % mental and 5 % skill. You have to master your mind before u can incorporate skill

Your videos/tips/instructions have completely reshaped my swing. Fell out of my groove with irons, lost my shape and form for some weeks. Developed bad habits, but your videos got me back to the basics and it has been a night and day difference. Thank you!!!!

Ball forward is always a better ball striking strategy. The Golden Bear did all the time. The logic is that it forces one to extend one's swing arc and arms such that one tends not to lift his body but stay down. Great tip.

Thinning and topping the ball is my biggest issue. For a beginner I have decent confidence smashing my driver off the tee but that average 4-6 iron shot off the fairway kills me almost every time. Thanks for the help, all of your videos are great Matt. Cheers!

Hello Matt, I've just recently subscribed to your golf tuition and I must say that your delivery style is just great. You explain things extremely well and in a way that me, as a night handicapper, understands. Matt, one of the things you might want to add to this is length of club.I found out that I was hitting with clubs that were over an inch short for my height. I'm over 6 ft but I'm using a standard set of golf clubs so I have to bend over more to address the ball and in my swing I'm standing to accommodate the swing and that's raising me up enough to hit my ball I lenfhted my shafts and I haven't had a problem since
@johncarilli22274 жыл бұрын
James Brusseau 101 ... Being “fitted” for any club is a prerequisite in golf if you are TALL > 6 ft OR ANY OTHER PHYSICAL FACTOR if you are not an average size human being. Standard club lengths are not the only issue, it’s shaft type/torque even grip size, all come into play.

How about a video on what to do when you’re playing on a course with VERY dry and VERY fast greens. It’s like hitting onto a wood floor or glass. And then the ground is hard as rock, so you can’t get under the ball, a flop shot of any kind is impossible. It really, really makes golf difficult. Tips for this situation? (Besides fine better courses that actually water)

im brand new to golfing... about a month in so far... the only time i thin shots is with a driver or with a wedge from the fringe of the putting green trying to do a super soft shot... and launch it off the other side of the green... not the norm but definitely happens... the wedges are the only clubs i can swing accurately and confidently in general... even 9 to 7 iron isnt too bad... but then they start getting wild... and wilder the longer the stick gets lol.... so far my best score is a 86... worst a 114...

Sorry MSG but I could not stop laughing when you were demonstrating the wrong way of having the club face too open and you shanked your "brand new Pro V1" into the brush and lost it. As always, think you for the tip. I have been practicing indoors all winter and I found my first few rounds I have been hitting thin several times and not getting down on the ball as I did on my turf. I think my over rotation is the cause and I will find out today on my next round on a course. You are the best golf teacher on KZbin my friend.

I hit behind the ball more than a few times in my last round. I’m determined to focus not on the divot but upon the ball. I’d rather drive the ball into the ground than hit behind the ball. When my second shot is 100-130 yards from the green I will make sure I think about hitting the ball. Imagining the divot is dangerous, because it is not the priority and I may hit behind the ball. I’ve noticed that the left shoulder returns to the starting position when hitting the ball. Thanks

Is this the same idea as me looking at the front edge of the ball, or even an inch in front of the ball, instead of the back edge? Ironically I struggle with chunking it the most, so I look at the front of the ball to hopefully make clean contact. If I just look at the back of the ball and try not to chunk then I tend to top it or thin it.

Help Matt! I used to play off 8 and after a 5 year break I’m finding my game again but when I’m 150m or less from the pin with an 8 or less in my hand I thin or chunk it maybe half the time! Now it’s in my head and my pre shot routine includes a “don’t hit it thin or fat” self mention...a big no no I know!! But I’m stuck in this rut now and while your drillshelp I need your advice on getting out of my own way and clearing my mind EDIT: if I’m in the rough then no worries it’s tight fairway lies that trouble me (but I don’t get any spin cause of rough hahahah)

What I learned a few years ago that is perfect and what most PGA players do is open your front foot to make sure your hips and turn much more therefore causing your feet to come up more with more loft and power to your shot.
