What is the Proper Driver Tee Height?

I always enjoy your videos Matt. I just went through this with foot spray and found that lowering my tee height actually gave me a more consistent impact position on the face.

YOU FIXED MY 3 WOOD OFF THE TEE! Also, my irons off the tee are much more consistent, now that I'm no longer teeing them up too high. thanks!

You are spot on. Teeing it lower gave me more yardage and accuracy. I was getting underneath it teeing it higher

I go with the 5 tee height system: 1) low - healy power fade fairway finder 2) high - big fairway, hit up from inside with slightly closed face high low spin draw 3) normal - very similar to you 4) normal minus a little bit - when hitting into the wind 5) normal plus a little bit - when hitting down wind

Hey Matt; You learn something new every day. When I tee it to high I sky ball it. I try to hit bullets on my drives so I may tee it a tad bit lower and stay on the ball as long as possible it also helps to have a 8.5 degree driver. Honestly if I can hit the ball straight all the rest of the information is mind clutter. Your the best my friend stay safe!

I tee it a tad lower so top of ball is even with top of my driver. Ball is inside of left foot. Pretty solid shots most of the time. I check club face after every hit too. That tells me where I struck the ball.

Trial and Error to find the right tee height. Like the tape idea to test where you are hitting the ball on the club face.

I’ve watched the pros putting. Some have a greater angle from putter grip to the putter head. I have found that I create a straighter pendulum swing with my putter head angled upwards. Maybe I can get a better angle from shaft to putter head? I want to feel the same pendulum swing for all my clubs.

After watching your discussion on driver attack angle, I purchased a blast motion senser to help me figure it out. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get any technical support, or any support from the manufacturer. Numerous calls to register my purchased produst have been unanswered. Not on one call has been answred from three days of calling. I'm sure that with your stature in the golf world, the manufacturer bends over backward to insure your happiness, not so much for us unwashed. I feel like I have been sold a bill of goods.

You need to use a flight simulator to show the variations on your shots and tee Hight I hit down on the driver and play with my tee position and find a bit lower is better for me. . Thanks for you great instruction and info. I wish I lived where you are for probably great lessons, Thanks again from a great fan.

It would had been simple to talk about ball trajectory hight, low, slice ( external to inside down swing ) to show where on the face of the club ( without changing attack angle or swing ) the ball will impact ….than suggest to each of these swing bad or good where to it the ball on the face of the club and place the tee height accordingly. my best tee hight is white castle as i can get airborn and quite long for me . BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE NOW . BALL THAT WOULD BE HOLE COMES OUT MORE THAN GOES IN. THIS IS BECAUSE TIGERS COULD HIDE IN OUR ROUGH, ON THE GREEN WE PLAY A NORMAL PUTTER LENGHT INSIDE IS A GIMMIE FOR A SHOT. WE THERE IS NO HANDICAP NO COMPS NO TOUCHING OF THE FLAG WITH HANDS. NOT LIKE USA YOU STILL TAKE OUT PIN IF YOU LIKE . OH AND THE BALL HAS TO BE PERFECT SPEED TO STAY IN THE CUP WHICH IS A THIRD OF THE BALL DEEP. I want to grab my chainsaw and cut that tree down that appears to be in the middle of the fairway. Nothing worse than piping it down the middle , then getting blocked out.
