My Xperia 1 V forced me out of that habit precisely because I knew what kind of tech was in it. I never had a digital camera growing up. Lol, lack of funds made me choose one or the other. I either had the Palm Treo or the camera. I definitely picked the Treo.

I always find it fascinating when I switch from my 3x and slowly zoom out to where it's now cropping the main 1x sensor and I can see the subtle shift in white balance because it's not perfectly matching the adjustments between sensors. Even Apple hasn't perfected this and probably will always be noticeable until they just give us matched sensors across all three focal lengths.

Yup. Different sensor sizes, different pixel level performance, the most consistent performers I've seen are probably Xiaomi, but even then, you'll see differences in how each sensor "decides" to adjust exposure values.

It's been the battle I've been waging for the better part of a decade now. A LOT of techies are really knowledgeable about stuff like performance and gaming, but really dont know as much as they think they do about photography and audio.

Nothing fancy on my Lumix, just a 12-35. I will add though, that if your phone's telephoto is rocking a larger sensor (like a 1/2.5"), it's a GREAT upgrade.

@SomeGadgetGuy I just got the G95! Man! What an upgrade from my Nikon d5200. I don't have a 12 or 14mm yet. I have the prime 25mm and the 45(?)-150mm. I just got a few filters and glimmers. Such a game changer! I don't do 4k yet. The 1080 out of this is so solid!
