This is the single greatest description and explanation of why you need an intermediate point I've ever seen. Thank you for that. Great video btw.

Bonjour Shawn! (By the way, your french is very good). Thanks for all the great videos. Make me understand very clearly the how's and why's of my good and bad shots. More importantly, they help me correcting myself at the range as well as on couse. Happy you enjoyed this great place that is Quebec City.

After watching your video with the rope on a swing, it really opened my eyes to how I can figure out the appropriate posture for my shots. I have no doubt that this video will help me take those theories to the next level. Fantastic video, you are obviously a good teacher and put these things in ways that are easily digestable. Keep it up.

Shawn, I take it that this is the same for any club in the bag. The reason I ask is because I do this a lot with my fairway woods and hybrids.

Yeah, I tend to redirect the path with my shoulders, and when I do the ball consistently comes off the toe. My issue is that in instances where I stick with the shot even though I feel the impulse to re-route the path, I end up hitting huge blocks. At any rate, great lesson. Greetings from Cobourg.

Great video! I hit it off the toe especially with driver and lately with my 5 wood! I mean off the end of the toe! My irons sometimes off the toe but ball position and distance from ball has helped. Where should ball position be for 5 wood off tee? Obviously for me off front heel isn't working. 5 wood maybe more in the middle? Driver? Thanks!

Hey Russell! See “ball position bible shawn clement” “ball position with all clubs shawn clement” and “driver speed and smash shawn clement golf wrx” On our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com you will see “fairway woods and hybrids” “driver part 1”, “driver part 2”, and a really important series for those who hit off the toe with Driver is “great driver Nugget” and “the diagonal stance series” only $9.95 a month for my life’s work!

Hey shawn, last year I got down to a 3 handicap and I decided to see what help I could get with my equipment for some extra help. To my fitters horror the clubs were 4 degrees upright, thick grips, and 1 inch longer than normal clubs, I bought these of the shelf second hand, so effectively they were built for someone taller than myself. However I had adapted and played the best golf of my life with these clubs. Once my fitter told me about the adjustments required I straight away took his advice. Since the clubs have been altered I've sold them as I can't hit them to save my life and bought a standard set with the specs for myself. However I'm still in the same predicament. I have always put the ball very far forward in my stance, I wonder if this was a way of coping with the longer clubs, and since then I've continued with the same ball position as second nature and now struggle? I consistently hit the ball out the toe and im losing the best part of 30%/40% of distance, and my dignity each shot. I struggle to shoot in the single digits now, last year I'd be shocked if I shot anything other than single digits. I guess my first port of adjustments will be the ball position. I really try not to have any technical thoughts and play with all the information in front of me and allow my body to self organise. But I'm in serious golfers prison atm!!. Thanks for the videos and continued support!!! Ed

OMG I did not realize my little sway was causing this. I was moving 3 inches closer to the ball and still hitting it off of the toe. I kept thinking my task is correct because the ball was going where I intended but the strike was always toe side of center. You should cover this and heel strikes on the premium channel.

Hey Tim! Great feedback, thank you! On premium, see list of videos by date and check out Brandel Chamblee’s Anatomy of greatness transition video, then up the list to “making consistent contact”, “mile markers contact”, and “consistency series” is great too!👍😀

Hello Shawn, premium member here and needed to look back on some old vids due to recent toe strikes….Saw a teaching pro who filmed my swing and he noted that I was “hanging back” at times, causing a slight flip/toe strike…I have actually been attempting to keep my head behind the ball and try to play a draw most of the time. Is it possible I am overdoing that feeling of staying behind the hit? And if so, can you direct me to a video that will help me move forward. I will say, after joint your on-line site, my distances have increased 10-20yards per club and my handicap has dropped about 8 strokes! The toe strikes are random (15% of the time) and don’t happen with my driver…thanks in advance. Everyone should join the “Wisdom in Golf” if they want to improve…IMHO!

Hey Jim! thank you for the kind words! the videos you want to see on premium are the following: -2 tee drill perpetual motion -tilt mile markers -unstoppable momentum series -spinning throw the ball series -path blur with low point series (just out!)

I have perfected the toe hit. I can stand too close, too far away, swing too far from the inside and still toe it. I can even set up with the hosel ahead of the ball and still toe it. At least it goes on target unless right off of the toe. The only thing working currently is to imagine a ball about half a ball further away and swing at that ball towards the target.

Go check out the “2 ball drill shawn clement” and “awesome drill to hit your irons flush shawn clement” to see how you can be standing up a bit when swinging which would cause the toe hits; see also “where to park the eyes shawn clement”

I'm the exact same way but with the heel now. Trust me you'd much rather hit toe than heel. I've tried everything and no matter what I do I always hit it in the exact same spot super close to a shank. Makes no sense

Danny here from Louisiana. Wanted to let you know how much Billy and I enjoyed our day of lessons with you. I’ve hit some great shots since then but still somewhat difficulty with the strong grip. To all of your followers in the south, go to Quebec City and enjoy a beautiful city and schedule lessons with Shawn. One of the best trips I’ve taken. Thanks Shawn

Hi Shawn - I know this is an old video but I have been following you for years and after a surgery that I thought would never let me play golf again, I am back after 6 years thankfully. My question would be, how would you solve standing up? Thats the only thing I can think of that I am doing. The blur matches, I am nice and braced and behind the ball, one leg drill, feet together, take a walk drill, everything in my swing feels just like that, but I am constantly toeing my irons. Only thing I can figure is my wrists are flipping over too quick or I am standing up because my hips are rotating faster than my body can keep up.
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
If you are on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com you would want to see “blur of club” and then the “arc-blur unstoppable momentum series” first; then see “feet together back to feet apart” which is GOLD to come back to regular stance if the feet together drill has been working nicely for your contact. The squat in the downswing is key and that means the engagement of the kinetic chain is key. So then see “kinetic chain facilitation series” and you will see my favourite in there at #6 when we are walking and sending divot peels into the woods! Enjoy!

I notice this happens to me when I choke down on a wedge for an in between yardage. I suspect the ball position is too far forward for the shorter club length...would that make sense?

Shawn, great video as usual. I needed this video, I played Friday and while i didn't always toe it i found that when i would lose my picture and revert back to my old swing i would start to sway and that is when i would toe it. Based on your video previously i was finally able to hit the draw and it was awesome! Thank you for all the help!

I have a buddy that sways off the ball and his left foot turns into a windshield wiper almost every time he uses his driver. So the ball goes everywhere. The crazy thing is when he uses fairway woods he never does it and he hits the ball great. Have you ever had a student like that? I have been telling him to stop trying to kill the ball and to do the one legged drill. Is there anything else that would help?
@golflessons6 жыл бұрын
Tee the ball very low and play like a fairway wood! Best way to keep driver in play and get used to delivering with it properly; and have him see “ridiculously easy shawn clement” part 1-2

Steep like Bubba? He is steeper than me and you kinda have to be consistent to be in the hall of fame on tour buddy!

@@golflessons sorry, wasn't try to upset you but don't know why you brought Bubba into it lol, I don't swing like Furyk or Matthew Wolfe and they are tour pros so they have found a way to make it work, as long as your impact position is on point I guess that's all that counts I just made an observation when I slowed the video down so no need to get defensive and upset about it
