Nice explanation and demonstration. I notice many of the modern men pros set up more centered and is more body driven with less forearm rotation. But it is much more difficult to execute unless you are really flexible. I think your style is much more suitable for amateurs. Especially in creating power. The pro model is a bit more accurate and you get a lower ball flight on wedges. Long story short if you are young and flexible you have a choice. If you are seasoned and less flexible your method is better.

It's interesting...if I use a diagonal stance (like Moe and Ben Hogan), I can't come over the top...the path to the ball makes it next to impossible. I have to swing inside to out. As a tennis player, the serve is very similar. The feet are aligned to the right of the net post, yet the target is well to the left of that.

@@golflessons Thanks Shawn...why don't more players use this type of stance if it eliminates over the top and promotes in to out? I rarely see this on the tour...most players are square. @golflessons5 жыл бұрын
OMG REALLY? 😝. This is what a human on planet earth does; the prevailing “be careful, watch out teaching” has you and so many others, including tour pros, brainwashed into thinking something bad is going to happen. And if you watch Moe Norman, he came up the same amount, bsck down the same and back up in the finish the same. This area of the swing, like the area where we now say to let the hips turn in the backswing, (something I have been teaching for well over 25 years) will also be historically correct. See Matt Wolff, Bubba Watson, now Vaughn Taylor, and now teachers like Lucas Wald and George Gankas, and remember this comment please! 😀👍 Videos I have on the subject to explain these proper ground forces (which you are wired to do completely naturally BTW) are “create serious speed shawn clement” “kettle bell drill shawn Clement” “hammer for more power shawn clement” “ “ground forces shawn clement” just to name a few...

Shawn Clement - I didn’t say it was bad I just made an observation and compared to many other tour players that don’t do it. You named a select few that do it I can name 100’s that don’t do it and have been more successful. Have you ever heard of Tiger Woods? 😂 He definitely doesn’t do it and he is the best of all time. I’m not saying that it’s incorrect or a wrong way, you obviously do it and can hit the ball well but then again your teaching on KZbin and not playing on the tour. When you come up and down like that you have to be very skilful to be able to time everything to make consistent strikes vs a more stable head in my opinion. One thing I have learned in golf is no two people have the exact swing. Cheers
