I respect people who play a hard and say "Thats not for me" and leave it at that. Im annoyed when people say "Thats not for me, make it for me" with a hard game. These games are all about trial and error, if you dont have the time for that, dont get it. If you die 1000 times to a boss, thats ok. Just dont say that its the games fault. Anyways, great video... you earned a subscriber :D

that is indeed true. tho some developers have it in their quota to make the game as accessible as possible for everyone so everyone can experience something great which i think isn't a bad idea. I definitly do wanne play through elden ring cause the world looks so amazing and I know i can definitly get through it but time has been getting more constraining with adult life bruh.

I do find it kind of weird that people use fromsofts games as a marker of difficulty, practically all of the difficulty is observational, if someone is having a hard time it is exclusively because they aren't paying attention, either it's because they aren't looking out for ambushes, traps, environmental foreshadowing or an enemy's moveset. Sure that doesn't mean you'll beat everything first try if you pay attention, but if someone is consistently failing it's because they aren't paying attention. It is significantly more difficult to play competitive multiplayer in any other game than it is to play PVE in a fromsoft game purely because you are dealing with the chaos of another sentient human being rather than AI that ia limited to patterns. That being said, to succeed in these games you actually have to take the time to learn how to play them, a large majority of elden rings playerbase don't actually understand the basics despite possibly finishing the game because they have found ways to ignore the base game mechanics with builds that outright remove threats before they actually understand the threat and therefore still don't know how to deal with it until they bump up against something that they can't cheese in the same way and therefore they cry out that there is an unfair difficulty spike. Beating elden ring and the air of false "superiority" isn't what makes those games fun, it's appreciating the finer details in the flow, mechanics, exploration and lore. I kmow this comment may seem pretentious but I'm honestly nothing special. Anyone barring a quadroplegic can beat these games, and anyone who thinks they are something special because of it is just deluding themselves. Fromsoft games will also do wonders for your temperment and composure, you'll learn to care less when you fail and focus on improvement, however you also need to take these games at your own pace, playong with friends is fun and all, but you are very unlikely to pay as much attention and thus you'll get sloppy, you won't learn the movement, pay attention to your surroundings or absorb the lore. I'm not against multiplayer and I couldn't really give a damn on if you use spirit ashes, bit I would recommend learning at your own pace, one that has you recognising your own mistakes and learning new things regularly, half the time you can learn tips and tricks from just listening to the dialogue and reading item descriptions (sekiro does this more than any of them, nearly every boss or difficult enemy type will have some sort of a hint to their undoing usually right around the corner from the fight itself.

Dam thats a lot of text but ye I agree, PvP is probably much harder and this post made me realize that lol. cause i been whooping people with smash but i also have like many hours in that game cause of just having fun and paying attention to habbits of people so I could definitly put that in a game like Elden Ring. Thanks for the comment and the time you put into it tho. gave me more insight.

@MathEizen sorry for the TED talk 🤣 I got a bit carried away. But yeah, sure you might have to try a particularly challenging boss a few times and admittedly Promised consort Redahn took me roughly 14 hours of dedication to beat and he's not the average challenge for the game, he's the absolute peak of difficulty, but it's not all that much time compared to getting even average in PVP in most games or adjusting to a new meta. If you've got the grit to pick yourself up and dust yourself off in any game's PVP, you can play elden ring.

I love Fromsoftware games, the Souls series is probably my favorite video game series of all time, but the fandom is just so... disappointing sometimes. Constant gatekeeping over skill and playstyle and "playing the game wrong" as if beating the game is some kind of moral superiority. I get that it's mostly a loud minority in the fanbase, but it still sucks, and they turn so many people away from what I think is one of the best gaming franchises ever, and it's just a shame. The fandom toxicity will always be my least favorite part of experiencing these games and the discourse surrounding them.

Great video! This topic had been going around in my mind since I was playing ER and had to look up wiki for items and stuff, and YT recommendation pulled through with this one! I usually play games with setting my OWN challenges for myself like using only specific builds, weapons, etc. because I like to experiment around with stuff, but when other people start to force it onto you and judge you for it, it becomes so irritating.

My most recent video is me beating the opening for Path of Exile 2 without completing any of the required quests and only using my bare fists to beat the first boss. Yes. It is worth it but it is not about proving it to others more about proving it to yourself. I would never have beaten Elden Ring or Sekiro if it wasn't for Biboo of hololive doing it, and I had to prove to myself that a girl who pretends to be an anime character for a living (no hate, biboo is my kami-oshi) isn't a sweatier gamer than me. Now Sekiro is like my first time beating Dark Souls 2, I crave more games with that sort of combat yet there are none. Sadge. After I beat DS2 scholar of the first sin for the first time, gaming was forever changed for me as a primarily WoW player for years prior. I couldn't enjoy WoW's gameplay afterwards, I craved more of that gameplay type, that difficulty and challenge, but most games practically just have levels of difficulty that are so poorly designed they could be named; "movie, no gameplay", "interactive movie, some gameplay", "easy difficulty", "normal difficulty", and then "horrendous nightmare, everything 1 shots you and you do no damage" (yes I am throwing shade at God of War's Give me god of war difficulty).

@Suavek69 Ай бұрын
@@MathEizen but you can't experience it if it's easy, because the mechanics only make sense in a challenging game. The story isn't that interesting, or it's better explained through Vaatividya videos than playing the game in FS games. The joy is getting better at game that is well designed mechanically. It's not gatekept, it's just not for you. It's like me saying that Marvel/DC is gatekept by cringe, and I wish it wasn't so cringe so I could experience it. No, I just find it cringe, therefore I don't watch it and move on. You shouldn't feel bad about it.

@@MathEizen idk what the other guy was fully talking about, but i do agree that sekiro would be very hard to make in an easy game. Most people start liking the mechanics when they actually master them (if only a little bit), and if the enemies dont make you master them then the games core wouldnt need to be learned leaving out a pretty boring combat. I sadly dont think it would be possible to make a fromsoftware (or souls-like) game without it being difficult wich in a way sucks as most gamers simply arent able to get good enough or dont have enough time
@MathEizen

Boring combat is very very personality based. So like that alre1dy disproves the whole point you are trying to make. With also saying most people enjoy the combat a lot when they good at it meaning the same people who can sink time into it. This is a very flawed statement to defend the point.
