Looking pretty dang jacked in these last few videos. Progress really coming along nicely. Will also help with spreading the message- as always, people believe a jacked guy far easier than a skinny babbler

OMG! My family is posterior pelvic tilt! Because our Elders were conservative. So ramrod straight back it was: chest up, bottom in! Me doing corrective exercises in my 50s! Thank you, Conor! Love Love Love all your videos! Kudos to the work you're doing!

KZbin is reading my mind today. This rib flare thing and over extending my low back has been habitual for me for years after hurting my low back. I'm only now realising it's happening and trying to get out of the habit. Good content!

Very helpful! Although the music is meant to be calming, it did distract me a bit and I had to rewind it to confirm I heard the right instructions. I think the music is difficult for me because I have tinnitus.

Stand up straight is one of the biggest misdirections that make people focus on the wrong aspects of posture from a young age. I really wish i was taught more about this sort of thing and PRI and whatnot YEARS ago when i started having issues lol 😭
@skopy158 сағат бұрын
Trying to “stand tall” can be more damaging than you think. I had been doing that all my life thinking I'm fixing my posture. Now in my 41s, I'm dealing with a very problematic l4 l5 S1 disc herinations (I'm in 9th month and it's healing really slowly - now it's like 60% ok).

As far as neutral position, it is easier to focus on center of gravity, rather than center of head, as focal point.

What do you mean with feeling the breath in the lower back? The lower part of the upper back (like you explained in the beginning) or really the lower back? :)

I’m super hyper extended because I started to develop kyphosis and instead of fixing it correctly I started to stand tall and now I don’t know what to do

I was told a year ago I had excess kyphosis so have spent a lot of time extending my upper back and now I am getting discomfort in my thoracic area. I feel that my upper back is quite flat and this is causing the discomfort. Is there a way to help relieve the strain and tension in the upper back to get the ribs correctly stacked over my hips so I'm not extending too much.

sorry but the restrictio of the lungs is less if you are straight (i am pneumologist) if you to the test in a lab you see you wrong everytime ... you are right that there is a impact with diaphragm but less impact than with a wrong posture specially when people are old and have osteoporosis. you may be right for people in very good health and go to gym as you but not commun people sorry for my bad english and good luck

how do we find the perfect posture? after years of wrong posture, its only normal to believe some has to change and it might look like we overextend our upper back.

I've been trying things for a while and I wasn't able to breathe upwards properly, till I saw the picture you attached (the one that shows the superior mediastinum) and by seeing it, I understood that I was picturing the inhale aiming the air heading to the externum and pushing outwards instead of the T1 opening, driving the externum outwards as a byproduct of that (not sure if it makes sense) Anyway... it worked! I can feel some muscles underneath the traps activating right now, feels like they never were before. Hopefully that'll do what I've been looking for. Thanks

Tbh with any breathing exercises, like these exercises or 90/90 breathing. I never feel my abs or side abs at all. Why is that?
@conorharris5 күн бұрын
You need to exhale more gently and for an extended period of time. If not, then try some side planks beforehand like this to prime yourself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHMonWGgJqod6M
@henrinieminen85945 күн бұрын
I started to exhale even after the lounges was empty and it turns out an very effective abs exercise. Now I do this complete out heill in every where at beginning, things open up quite fast now. I have pro swimmer type muscles so there's a lot muscle for big and strong shoulder movement.
@ycaesthetics10584 күн бұрын
@@conorharris awesome thank you. You perhaps have any tips on bracing as well? I find it hard to keep my abs contracted during movement, especially lifting and breathing the same time
