I use shea butter for my body, last 2 months mine have grown so beautifully as i use the left overs for my hands. Maybe this is it.

so just use both to balance it out. if you have brittle nails, never let your hands get dry and make sure to the oil cuticles multiples times throughout the day esp after washing hands. not lotion.

I started saturating my nails in oil, buffing it in and letting it work in overnight. Then, I add a strengthener on top (Nail Envy has worked best for me). This combo has worked and my nails are strong and hard. For the first time I am seeing progress in my nail growth. I tried other strengtheners and had issues, so I'm going back to Nail Envy.

Some people have really thin nails due to health conditions and genetics which causes them to flake, peel, and overly bend so this blanket advice doesn’t apply to everyone. Everyone should do what works best for their nails and it’s just determining what’s wrong with your nails and developing a treatment plan from there.

Ladies...it's true. Take off ALL polish. Oils are the key!!! I went without nail polish and used cuticle oil/ jojoba oil/and eventually FlexiNail several times a day for 4 months. I saw damaged nails from near my cuticle move towards the free edge. During This time I only pushed back cuticles and have never cut them. I filed them in one direction. I still use FlexiNail and use jojoba and almond oils too, several times a day and don't even want to use polish. My nail beds look healthy and have a natural pink color. Keeping them on the shorter side helps too. You have to be patient. It's soooo worth it.

Say it LOUD!!! Healthy nails need to BEND!!! Nail strengtheners make them too hard, and they won't bend when you hit them, they will simply break! Oil Oil Oil!!! Keep them nice and nourished with jojoba and or avocado oils to keep them healthy!

You have nails that don't need it. I have the worst cuticles that weirdly do better w acrylic or gel. The oil is doing nothing from mine and because my nails are paper thin bendy they break so easy. I just had to cut down 4 nails because they broke.

I had not heard of this before, but have noticed that the strengthners that I've used seem to make my nails brittle, and prone to break. Cuticle oil does help alot.

I use a hardener top coat sometimes because I have paper thin nails and I also cuticle oil and It really worked wonders for me! But everyone nails are different! But I don’t really recommend overusing nail hardeners tho!

if bending too much to you means to the point that they are going all the way back, then i understand but if they are bendy for e.g. when you wet them or even when you dont and they are slightly bendy, DONT WORRY, because nails are supposed to be like that and nail oil are supposed to make them bendy. REMEMBER --- BENDY IS KEY - having hard nail s makes them prone to chipping easily

I have been using a nail strengthener since 2016 with great success! It helps me keep my nails long and l wouldn’t have them if l didn’t use the strengthener. It is called Nailtiques Formula #2. I use it as my base polish before each manicure. I sometimes even use it on top of polishes. It took two months to see great results when l started using it!

I use both oils and nail strengtheners And I'm thinking rubber base instead, because strengthener is helping my nail break off problem but I need something that stays longer. AND some people have thin nails... Naturally and also due to them either filing too much(like me ｡>‿‿

Yes but I think that depends a lot on the individual’s nails. I believe in oiling 100% regardless!! But if your nails are still growing in super thin and very bendy (or you’re like me and 1/2 your nail beds are square and will catch on everything while growing out), I have had success using strengtheners/hardeners after my nails got long. I usually just leave a little bit of extra room at the cuticle line so oil can still get onto that sliver of nail bed while they’re painted. My nails didn’t get naturally stronger just from oiling alone, however it’s absolutely allowed me to retain length.

Bendable nails are often easier to break than hard ones, once a nail bends the part that bent becomes weaker and thinner causing the nail to eventually rip off

I swear i’m the only long nail girly that doesn’t use polish, of any kind. I just use the same growth oils that I put on my hair. Nail polish stinks bad and there are so many chemicals in it. It makes my nail peel and break much faster 🤷🏽‍♀️

nail strengtheners are good for people who have naturally thin and brittle nails. if your nails bend *too* much, they can break, just the same as if they don’t bend at all. So, for people whose nails are thin enough to bend very easily, nail strengtheners can be helpful.

She is also right. A hardener and strengtheners are two different things. You moisturize, then use a strengthener daily or every other day. Hardeners are temporary and because of that basically useless. Technically we should stay away from all false nails and colored polish.

Just leave your nails alone. No polish, no no gel or acrylic, no hardener just NOTHING. Maybe some natural oils now and then. If your nails are really bad it might take a while but you have to have patience with the process.
