I am 50 years old I suffered a fracture in the metatarsal bone of my right foot due to playing football a year ago. Only twenty days after applying the cast, I felt severe pain in the muscles of the back leg. Unfortunately, I did not know that it was a symptom of a leg stroke. I knew that it was a stroke in the deep and superficial veins after removing the cast. The gypsum remained installed for two months.. I was admitted to the hospital and they gave me blood clot medication for five days... and I spent nine days at home... and to this day I use blood thinners... My question: 1 Is there any hope that the vein valves will return to work? 2 How likely are you to develop varicose veins? 3 How likely are you to develop venous ulcers? 4 How often should I use compression stockings? Should I use them below or above the knee? 5 How often should I use thinners? 6 Should I go back to playing football or running

During one of your videos you rated compression socks. You didn't mention the Smartwool compression socks made with Merino wool for comfort. They are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They're not cheap but they are made in the USA. They hold up very well. Nos stinky feet like the synthetic beige socks from the pharmacy. I've had both greater Saphenous veins lazereed out of both of my legs back in 2009. My leg ulcers came from blunt trauma from banging the lover shine into solid objects. I currently have 2 on each leg None bigger than a quarter, but even treating with Spenco second skin doesn't seem to do anything. They do weep through the sock. Applying bandages more times than not the bandages fail when I attempt to put on the compression socks. The Unnaband stuff sounds like a better solution but applying the 2nd skin patches over the ulcer along with the antibiotic cream help with the healing? Thanks for the videos. They have been a big help.

I have a friend who has had 2 years worth of procedures for veinous ulcers, and they cant seem to get him healed up. They have suggested amputation, and he's beside himself with this outcome. I'm going to send this video to him....but I wish I could get him to reach out to other doctors for second opinions.

How do you manage excessive lymph drainage bilaterally? Patient had multiple venous wounds as well. The doctor isn’t helping much with new orders. I’m using silver alginate to wound beds then optilock around ankles and bottoms of feet. Then two layer foam wrap.The drainage is going through dressings within same day of dressing changes

I used the silver alginate on my Stasis ulcers but it didn't really help, now I use Santyl under oil infused gauze and some clear gel medicine that my mom bought in Mexico.

In your opinion, Dr Biernacki, how often alopecia of shins is an early warning sign of a blood circulation in legs? I am not losing hair anywhere else on the body. Internet suggests alopecia in that particular body part only is not very uncommon for men in their 40s, just not much information on the underlying cause

i've got this seeping ezcema thing going on now, where i had vein problems since having been struck by lightening...it exited my ankles..left burn scars, & i tend to get blood clots start in those areas....My Current nightmare Originally began with 5 tick bites..they became infected immediately after they gave me a nasty anaphylactic allergic reaction. Then they turned into leg ulcers. My dad had phlebitis & used to get leg ulcers, so..i know how to work with them, just had to remind myself it was time to treat mine the same way. Takes a long time sometimes. Nothing worked to heal these up for 2 years...then a few months ago when i realized how i used to treat dads, i stopped trying useless creams & began just soaking the legs in salt water with ACV & a few drops oregano oil in it. Then cover in a light wrapping of gauze with gobs of Iodex on it. Got 3 healed up now. The two remaining still periodically drain, a nice clear liquid, so i keep them open to drain by using Vaseline...Simple, cheap, & Zero side effects, This is a long frustrating & debilitating ordeal..but at least i am now seeing light at the end of this insanely itching tunnel... Oh! and i began drinking bone broth...which seems to be making a Big difference in several ways. The ezcema has stopped seeping & is fading away in most areas.

in the early 90s I sprained my ankle at a temp job; i was fired and they sent me to the doc to see if I was lying ... i was not blaming the workplace ... it was because I was malnourished and my ankle was affected ... yet back to the doc ... he saw this mark on my leg and asked about this ... I did not know what it was either yet I wonder if it is some type of venous status.
