There is one thing in longevity that you failed to mention; most android apps still get updates for YEARS after the manufacturer has ended support. For example; the latest version of Spotify is still supported on Android 6! A 7-year-old version of Android.

Android tablets are way more capable than iPads but the only reason I got the iPad is : 1. I Prefer the form factor when holding it In portrait mode compared to android tablets which is too tall

The comparison is as good as usual but it does not give the appropriate importance to the RAM difference. And I talk by experience. Having double the RAM make a huge difference in terms of apps and tabs reloading and the 4GB on the iPad 10 don't make it, in my opinion, as future-proof as claimed. I have both a 4GB RAM iPad and a S7FE (similar performance) with 8GB RAM, so I can see the RAM difference impact daily, especially when having several tabs open in a browser.

if you compare the 256gb versions, Fe has triple amount of ram, 4gb is not enough for multitasking. But again, multitasking in ipad is a joke. For web browsing, media comsumption, FE is more snappy than the ipad.

@@sungleong Let me partially disagree with this. You definitely have no direct experience if you say this. For web browsing, media etc the iPad is way snappier as the CPU performance (single and multi core) is much higher, not even close. It won't slow down even for multitasking (although indeed multitasking is more limited on the base iPad without stage manager). The big difference is reloads. The base iPad will reload like crazy apps and tabs when you open many of them, while the Samsung will keep them open in RAM

I agree. I use a laptop, and it freezes up a lot when opening multiple tabs that it makes its split screen features or the ability to open multiple different tools almost impossible because it is only 4GB of RAM. That is why i want to get either the S9 or S9FE+ tab to basically replace the work that I do on my laptop

Thanks for another informative comparison. I have an iPad 10 that I use mainly for content consumption and light gaming. I'm impressed with the picture and sound quality, and I don't use a pen so the lack of lamination has never been an issue. I recently purchased a 3rd party keyboard/cover combo and the 10 is a decent "almost" laptop when I travel.

Only thing that make me buy another iPad is the Longevity of the device. My old iPad Air 2 from 2014 received updates till 2023 and still works like a charm. It was slim but still took abuse like a champ. This kind of OS support from apple really offset high cost or less features. So it’s apple for me as far as tablets are concerned. I think I have overthought this and consumed too many videos. I like the Apple ecosystem. I have no complaints. I am getting a tablet to take with me on work trips and trade shows. Take pictures of product attributes, pictures of handwritten notes (converting to a note on the tablet), taking notes in meetings (typing), and social media consumption (work-related). I don't think I need a “Pro” version of a tablet. I have been using my iPhone 13 (not Pro) for the tasks listed above. But it is a struggle. So, having said all that, iPad 10 or the Samsung tablet? I don't want a laptop, would be happy with a “laptop replacement” item. I am open to suggestions. Looking to spend about $400 Thank you for the content.

I like the iPad simply bc of software updates and knowing it will receive a long life of updates. I think the Samsung tablets have much better screens, better colors, and really a more professional design to them. I hope the iPad 11th gen stays on course and makes the introduction iPad even better. Low key think they’re giving that Apple Pencil 2 support since there is now an Apple Pencil Pro.

ecosystem? i have all Samsung while apple is more of a cultural thing i find it limiting i like options and Samsung doesn't punish me for it and i appreciate that as a consumer. 5 dollars a month for repairs on Samsung care is worth it, i got the S9fe plus for 200 trading in my old s6lite. mostly use it for media and browsing and some small work data entry , gaming not so much i have a actual gaming system for that. Apple has a long way to go in terms of customization and i despise not having individuality when it comes to any product aside from say a case and a phone or tablet model. you can tap the screen on the S9FE+ to turn it off and one in the settings. theres alot not mentioned here in as far as set up after the actual purchase to fine tune the tablet to your use and work and play style. the fact that you can trade items in for a decent return on purchase for their reclycling or reuse to other markets makes it super appealing when upgrading.

Howdy! Am bit confused both this tab's work on wifi which means that banking apps would not work because they don't have sim like mobile phones. Am I correct? I am planning to buy one but I usually would be using for banking purpose and watching movies and little bit browsing internet. ipadOS is abysmal. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about it. Six months ago, I bought an ipad Pro 11" 1tb etched for drawing and the only things that I like are the screen, pen and Adobe Fresco. I've barely used it because the UX is woeful. Yesterday I bought a Galaxy Tab S10+ and it's like a breath of fresh air. The only thing I'm missing is Fresco. Everything else about the Tab UX is far superior to the ipad. However, I'm finding it to be too large, so I'm probably going to swap it for an S9 11" and finally sell my god awful ipad.
