Glad I found your video! I'm a 72 y/o vet who is is just trying to get by and I'm currently camped full time in the Blue Ridge, Ga area with a polyester tent, but need to get a canvas tent to winter over in. I'm thinking a Kodiak flexbow would work, but I'm looking at at least 660 bucks at least on Amazon. Can you point me to where I might be able to find one used? Thank you so much!

Glad you found our channel! A Kodiak tent would suit you well in that scenario. I'd start on Facebook Marketplace and maybe check Craigslist as well. If you drum up enough money, they often have good holiday sales on new tents as well in the next couple months.

lightweight is portable good for nomads but it's not a good permanent home because you cannot stand up and it's noisy with the wind.

Thanks for this useful video. I think shopping used makes particularly good sense when you're shopping for lightweight backpacking gear. That Nimbus tent weighs 2 lbs.4.6 oz. (1037g), so I agree that's a smoking deal for such a lightweight tent. I'm not 100% convinced, though, you'd get the same deal on a regular car camping tent. There are so many tents out there at the $150 price range (Teton, Mongar 2) that spending the time looking for used deals on these types of tents is probably not worth it IMO. I just sold my last generation REI Basecamp 4 for I believe $100, and the young lady I sold it to was overjoyed.

It's true, as many budget-friendly car camping tents as there are out there, it's not always a big money saver to buy used.
