@DrNoxin3 жыл бұрын
"Down a size, up a size" is easier said than done. You don't just up- or downsize on area of a jacket, but the entire jacket. I had jackets with a perfect shoulder fit, but way to baggy torso fit and vice versa.

true! im 5ft8 i had to get large due to my chest and lats size. lil baggy on torso and lengthy on arms. i had to go up for mobility and comfort. well fitted clothes are great but most of the time i couldnt move with it😂😂😂😂

Indeed. I workout a lot and have a V shape. Any garment that's not stretchy will juste not fit right. Jackets are unfortunately the worst since they are harder to taylor right :( Also, I seem to have an extra long torso, so things like bombers and jean jackets that are already short don't always look right on me.

My biggest issue is that my upper body is pretty jacked but I'm also 5'7. To squeeze into a jacket I need to sometimes get a large or even extra large, depending on the fit. I wish more jackets would tailor their designs for athletic people.

Love my suede field jacket the only problem is that the sleeves are a tad too long. I don't care though because I can't be bothered to pay a tailor to perform an unnecessary alteration. Additionally in the winter I can tuck my gloves under them to effectively nullify wind which is an incredibly useful feature of slightly long sleeves.

In LA people wear jackets less for warmth and more for style and they don’t zip/button them most of the time. So you need to find a jacket that looks good open, with just a t-shirt underneath. It’s hard to find one that does everything

Last month I go a Suede Bomber jacket and got it last day on sale and I can go between a M&L for different clothes item's, and at the store I went to had a M but not a L and it felt nice and the fit when zipped up was a bit snug but nothing loosing a few kgs won't fix and there was one other stores I think in my country that had a L. That would have taken me just over and hour to get there, so I made a choice all that is not totally right is the wrist length and sits a little up to arm, but I'm going to mostly wear it open a nice t-shirt and tried it on and got an opinion. Cause I was spending a few hundred and I'm happy with the choice I made

How should the back look like on a leather jacket? I own a gorgeous black leather bomber that looks great on the front, but the lower back seems to appear a bit bubbled-out (if that makes sense). Should it get tailored? Or is it normal that I should just straighten it down?
@michaellynn97632 жыл бұрын
I think I know what you’re talking about - it billows and forms and arch shape? If the hem is elasticated then it will drape correctly when fastened - or so I’m told, though I tend not to zip them up terribly often. I do however, believe it’s also depends on your posture and weight - I’m quite skinny with slightly rounded shoulders, which causes the billowing at the back with some jackets. Conversely, my new leather jacket, which is stiffer in construction, drapes perfectly.

Just make sure your jacket is long enough to hide your gun and loose enough that it doesn’t print. Wise words from a concealed carrier. That being said I do understand the struggles of trying to find decent looking clothing that is also comfortable and convenient for concealed carry.

I've been increasing muscle mass actually. I was always a skinnier guy, but I've been steadily gaining weight with my age (muscle not fat, as I see the definition & tone and feel the strength & endurance) This year (40) I put on 15 lbs of muscle (175 now, at 6'2") to where my shirts are all tighter for a proper fit and my pants needed to go up a size. Not sure how that happened, but the Wife loves it more than I do lol. Must be the healthier diet? Because I rarely work out. Although I can do 100 pull-ups and 100 squats, and a 5 min plank, so maybe it's finally just catching up to me?
