When Craig Ferguson took over TLLS from Craig Kilborn, he didn't change things up immediately, but instead he changed it up throughout his years of hosting the show. He made it more "him" in each passing year. This video shows some of that process, but in the later years.
Almost everything you see in the studio, be it the horse, the robot, the props on his desk & the mantel piece, they all have stories, stories that essentially made the show - for the real fans. In this video is my best attempt at explaining many things about the show, not by speaking or writing, but by showing things as they came to be. Thank you to all 112k of you! And I hope you enjoy!
You can expect to see the following:
The Snake Mug
Everything on the mantelpiece
A** mode
blue card ripping
kangaroo balls
glittery balls
Geoff Peterson & Secretariat's stories of origin
The picture of Paul McCartney
and much much more.

One thing becomes clear: early in 2010, this show went completely off the rails in the best possible way. Before, this had been a fairly conventional celebrity interview show, and Craig had more or less lived up to the network's expectations. Notably, not a lot of compilations exist from the first 6 years (even on THIS channel!), minus those famous monologues about his parents and the Spears/sobriety monologue. But at some point, Craig must have decided, well, my contract is coming up (was it? probably), and now I'm going to do what the hell I want to do. First the puppets, then Geoff, then Secretariat - all seemingly within a few months of each other (though I think the puppets might have been a bit earlier). The show changed drastically within the space of one year. The result was the funniest, most bizarre thing on American television. Too good to last, though we should be grateful it lasted 4 great years.

I think the problem is that the show was late in the night and CBS didn't care to market it because they didn't own it. Craig said in his interview with comedian Bert that CBS didnt care for his show. Also, I have only watched a few of his show when it ran during the time. 12:30 am on a weekday is hard to watch daily as a regular bloke with a 9-5 job.

You know something, Mr. Jayleno Fly? .. you're awesome. I mean that. Here, you put together and edit ten years of "The Late Late Show", combining all the best moments, best bits, and turn it all into one ninety-minute extravaganza of sheer bliss for any devoted Craig Ferguson fan to enjoy and cherish for all eternity. It's not often that I find myself compelled to shovel a shirtload of praise at any KZbin channel owner/creator, let alone one who's actually a big-chinned flying insect that babbles incessantly in a high falsetto 'buzz'; but, well, you go above and beyond! I believe in giving credit when, and where, it's rightfully due. You rock, dude. If you were within my reach, I'd.. I'd swat you. ;o) ("Bzzzzzzzzzz.." "Oh, HEY! Look at me! I'm the Jayleno Fly! I'm making 'best-of compilation KZbin videos' now!" "Bzzzzzzzzz.." "Hey! Look everyone, "Bzzzzz.." ['SWAT! /'SPLAT!!'] {"Slowly & slightly lifts the fly swatter, looks beneath it.."} "I'm still here!" {"Smacks the swatter back down again, grinding the JL Fly down even harder this time." "Lifts again."} "Bzzzzzzzz..." "Still here!")

Thank you very much for this JLF. If I may ask, could we have a compilation of Craig's sensitive moments? I think what really set Craig apart from everyone was his ability to share deep and emotional feelings with an air of humor. It's a mark of the man's genius. For example, his monologue about his father, the one about his mother, the one about Apartheid and the interview with archbishop Desmond Tutu, the one about addiction etc. These were all important highlights that put Craig in a league of his own.

I remember the ‘roo balls episodes like it was yesterday, so amusing. I remember most of Craig’s shows from its entire run actually, it was & remains so very dear & important to me - needless to say there’s never been a late night show quite like it, or a quick-witted, charismatic, charmingly irreverent host like the Ferg. His show saved me daily from anguish, I cannot fathom this world without him (and later on, Geoffrey P;) Anyhow....it’s hard to express how truly special the show was. JLF, yours is the *finest* channel on KZbin (indeed I’m biased but I think it’s fact!!) & I’m entirely indebted to you, & so grateful that you have been THE stellar archivist of all things CraigyFerg. -Cheers, happy new year & much admiration, -Tz

The first talkshow i followed religiously because the show was so original and entertaining was David Letterman, you just never knew what he was going to do. Then many years later came the Ferg., an explosion of skits, and voices, and gimicks, and general insanity. He's the most personable, fun, fun loving, friendly host to ever come along. How many hosts have guests thinking of you so much because you're so cool and kind that half of them bring gifts? I came to the Ferg late, but I've watched nearly every show and couldn't have enjoyed them more.

Awesome package man this mustve taken ages to compile, I think you covered just about everything except maybe the entrance of the TARDIS but well done all the same now I know how you got your name too, that bit was hysterically funny, my sides were hurting.
