It was super wild. I struggled to hold the camera still.

Thanks David. I was stood well back. I still got soaked by the spray though.

As I watched this I tried to imagine what it must have been like for the the people in Indonesia when they saw the immense waves of the tsunami approaching and knew it was the end of their homes and communities as they had known them. The power of the sea is hard to imagine in terms of joules and tonnes force. I am also mindful of the people on the east coast who see the turbulence eroding the cliffs on which their homes are built. So many of us feel we live in a safe bubble . . . how must the genuine homeless rough sleepers be coping in Blackpool alone? The skin of the bubble is so thin . . .

The sea is so powerful. I love watching it and seeing the waves but I feel bad for those affected. Seeing a tsunami must indeed be terrifying. We are lucky for the most part in Blackpool. We almost never get adverse weather. The waves on Sunday and today (Monday) were bigger that any I've ever seen. Sundays were big, but today's tide was a bit higher and the wind was stronger. I was out today filming and will edit that footage tomorrow, but the sea today was insane.

@@Lyca31 Please stay safe Lyca. The wind today is worse than yesterday, I am trying to listen to orchestral music on headphones and the white noise of the roaring gusts is challenging it. Friends of mine in Dorset are seeing sea surges bigger than they remember.I have seen a news item on BBC news website today of someone on the edge of a cliff trying to get a selfie amongst descending spume. The waves are not homogenous in strength as you know, there can be five of one strength and the next can be as strong as the last five put together. People do not realise this. Another news item showed a lifeboat almost capsizing while on a callout. We think we tame nature by building dams and harnessing windpower but nature always holds a trump card. Good luck with the editing and if you venture out we all want you to stay safe.
