Is your tent a three season shelter, only, sir? As I'm always looking for ways to reduce the weight of my load-outs, I like the design, which will hold up easily in high winds, I'm sure; however, the reason I ask is that it wouldn't seem to be suitable for snowy conditions. Also, your use of a small spray bottle for your cooking oil is absolutely brilliant! Lastly, GOOD JOB in tidying up the area of the detritus left by previous campers! As to your question: Yes, I also do this! It is what I, and some friends of mine here in the states, call "Living": challenging ourselves, pushing to extend our limits, and enjoying the real world outside the taken-for-granted comforts and luxuries of mundane civilization. Well done, to both you and the English Woodsman!

Hi mate, Great comment and great question. Unfortunately I've not had the Stratosphere long enough to be able to say whether or not it could hold up in snow. Weve not had a great deal in the UK over the time I've had it. However as for pack size and weight etc, combining the Stratosphere with the Snugpak Stasha worked Brilliantly in this instance, it provided an extra layer of protection for not much weight and size, the entire shelter and ground tarp fit into a side pouch on the Snugpak RocketPak. Yeah the spray bottles are essentially just from the pound shpp/dollar store marketed as 100ml travel bottles for shampoo, etc... if you like that idea, check out my Chicken and Rice video theres another handy tip in their. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to post a great comment 🤙👍

I've ran mine in pretty heavy snow using a strong tarp to keep from being burried in snow and to help reduce it from the weight. So far it's worked through the Colorado winter's.

Excellent video. Cant beat camping in adverse weather. I love the challenge. Provided you have the right gear you can enjoy the storm or snow. Your biggest concern was Dan swooping on your grub which looked great. He has a 'big drop' aka a well developed appetite. That Gerber product looked very nice. Would have been useful at the Alamo or retaking Port Stanley. Subscribed today after watching Dan's latest. Look forward to more of your adventures with or without Dan. You made the right choice setting up the tarp over your snugpak stratosphere. Well done to you and English Woodsman for getting out in the storm. Watched the video he put up earlier today. English Woodsman already gave us a sneaky peak of The Gerber versafix in his video, seem to do an alright job of prepping the wood for fire. Loving your phrase "Living like tramps, eating like Kings" 😀 That meal looked delicious and you certainly won the sizzle over English Woodsman's chops. Thoroughly enjoying watching both your videos and those of English Woodsman. Keep up the fantastic work👍

I saw hed rifled the versafix, yeah it handled really well,made light work of the Battoning but chewed the baton to pieces.. Hi, Condolences. As for the video; Yes I would probably give it a try with you all in another storm. Especially if camp is not really too far from civilization. A good test and trial of equipment and techniques. That's how we learn and improve. However I camp with a motorcycle and have a large tent that I can fit my bike into. I'm not sure how something that big might fair in this storm and wind. That would be a test for sure. Not sure about that knife you had. Was the spine supposed to be saw? What is the point of having that jagged edge out where you might want to baton? I watched your friends video first and as it was coming to an end (early morning), I thought it would have been hilarious if you had packed up early while he slept. He would have gone through the storm and wind and come out to find your area cleared out! Maybe leave a few tent pegs, one glove, just for effect. That would have been so funny. Anyway, good job not being destroyed. Looks like fun to me. Cheers.

The wood was alive and growing. They had no right to cut it down. Typical couldn't care less campers. Very irresponsible. No thought for "Leave no Trace". Why light a fire? I would say that was an illegal act. You are a disgrace to genuine campers.

The clue is in the name “footprint “ 😂 IMO the Footprint should be no wider than the widest part of the tent, stops any chance of water pooling under the tent. Back in the day tent ground sheets were usually tough enough that that footprints weren’t necessary and ground pad/sleep pads were were put under the tents not inside 😂 how times fly!!! Regards

I used a mates Snugpack Stratosphere and found it to be so tight and cramped. I only used a small Thermarest, a 2 season summer light weight sleeping bag and found that it didn't have much room to move in it, did you not find that to be the case? Im 5' 7" small to medium build and i just couldn't get on with it unless I lay on my front or back and didn't move. Food looked great. Subbed. Stay safe. Greetings from Ibiza.
@OscarOutdoors22
@OscarOutdoors22 4 жыл бұрын
I'm 5.10 as you can see some if the filming was done on my front, but that's because I sleep on my front, I find it adequate for what what it's intended. Just a shelter from the elements. I wriggle a bit in my sleep too. So that doesn't help lol... but as a pop up up peg down shelter brilliant. Thanks for your support, comment and sub, all greatly appreciated. 👍🤙

@@OscarOutdoors22 Hiya. Ents were the ancient race of walking trees who inhabited some forest or other in LOTR. They carried two of the Hobbits and later took part in the attack on the Tower of Sauron (I think). If you look at the tree behind the central twigs at 0.06 'til 0.14 you can (or at least I can) see two shining eyes, a long nose and a downturned mouth. Great vid. by the way.
