I was in the red area. I was away for the weekend in a worse area on the north Devon coast. Never known winds like it, couldn’t walk well at all. Thankfully the private yard I’m in didn’t have any damage but I was so worried about the ponies but the yard owners are amazing and kept me informed. So sorry this has happened to you.

So sorry Karen 😢 at least we don’t have extreme weather all the time , that wind was so bad would have been extremely dangerous to try fix it while the wind was still up. You have good family & friends to help fix it all & the horses are all ok. We count our blessings ❤️

I've read that there were casualties from Storm Darragh, and I wholeheartedly agree that storms are getting worse. I live in western North Carolina, US, where we are still in a mess from Hurricane Helene. I had property damage, so my heart goes out to you, but thank goodness your horses are all right! People lost horses here from Helene as there was massive flooding. I know you will do what you have to do to secure the buildings and protect your horses. But when nature rages, we feel helpless and it's traumatic. I know there is more to this story for you and I hope it has a happy ending!

Everthing is hard to cope with and overwhelming Karen when you are not feeling well. The horses are ok. Thats all that matters... Storms are getting stronger..!! My house roof started leaking..!! Dripping into my bedroom.🙈Then a pipe burst in bathroom and flooded.🙈🙈 Then i cracked chipled my newish induction hob.🙈🙈 And i had Covid...Burst into tears.😂😂 Homes stables need constant maintainance....!! Expensive and exhausting... Life is never easy...But buildings can be mended.. Main thing you your family and horses all ok. Nothing we can do about the destructive power of nature. I feel for those poor souls who's homes flooded. That must be horrendous.. Hope your feeling better Karen.❤❤❤❤ Wishing you and your family horses a very Merry Christmas. Oh what a nightmare, its been crazy, so pleased no one was hurt, we had a tree down, and of all places to fall it landed on the gateway to get to the stables, so I had to saw my way through to get to them, I was more concerned with the massive tree behind my house, the wind was blowing in the direction that if it came down, it would have hit the house, didn't get much sleep that night😱 . xx

What a nightmare! After all the hard work you and your family have put into the yard, I really feel for you. At least all horses and human’s are safe. (I laughed when the sound cut when your partner and boys were pushing the side back of the shed - I’m presuming there was some blue language! 😂) And you’re right. The storms are getting worse, our winters are getting wetter, warmer and stormier thanks to global warming. (We currently have a windy week up here. Last night it was about 56 mph winds tonight it’s only 30 mph but tomorrow night it’s back up to 50 mph. I leave Peds out when the winds hit 50 + as I feel that’s safer where I am)

Thank you, this cold was horrendous and I’m only just starting to feel normal now, It was just bad timing having a cold and damage from the storm at the same time 😂 now we’re all feeling better the boys have started fixing everything thankfully xx

OMG How terrible. It will get better. We all know it is just stuff, and just take a big breath, feel better in a day or two and then just set yourself up to fix it all. Will be better when fixed. The best thing is the horses are ok. That is what is important.
