A man has died after falling into the River Tawe in South Wales as three major incidents have been declared.
A multi-agency response has been triggered as rescuers battle to get to victims by helicopter and boat.
Major incidents have also been declared in Hereford and Worcester.
Storm Dennis has also meant the Environment Agency declared the highest number of flood warnings and alerts on a single day in England.

In the old days, thousands of men were employed to clear rivers and ditches so that water flowed freely. Now all the ditches are overgrown, shallow and blocked with litter. Also, in the past it rained all the time.

I sympathize w the families in the UK. As this event is not new for Filipinos. I am thankful that through experience, the Philippines has learned how to deal with flood. Filipinos overcame this sudden situation and so will the Brits.

I m afraid it's a bit more complex than that, Water makes Every Hole 🕳 seems leveled, there might be bits that only have 2 inch water however there might bits which have way more

In bewdley we have flood defences but the environment agency didn’t put them up in time.
@simontay4851
@simontay4851 4 жыл бұрын
The environment agency are utterly useless. They knew the storm was coming. Local people should have easy quick access to the flood defences. They could and should be stored in local businesses so they can be put up in a few minutes. But they are probably stored in a council warehouse miles away somewhere.

If people's safety was a priority, the government would have put flood defences in place for areas at risk of flooding! There's no excuse for this!

Why blame the new Government and PM Boris Johnson for the recent flooding in York when this has been a problem for many years.?😡
@SuperMissblueeyes
@SuperMissblueeyes 4 жыл бұрын
@@harrycday6528 They should have learned from this problem happening for many years & done something about it! That's the government's job! People pay taxes to our government to make sure things like this are stopped!
