Supersonic ground speed due to tailwind, not a supersonic airspeed. In such conditions, the airspeed is subsonic, thus there is no sonic boom. Yes, more than 800mph, haha

2:34 It's subsonic because it didn't break the sound barrier. When moving relative to the air, it was going less than the speed of sound. 2:40 80 mph is not fast. Speeding cars on the motorway can go faster. The plane reached speeds of 825 mph (according to BBC news)

@@guiltyagi2685 Supersonic is when something breaks the sound barrier. The speed of sound in a medium is relative to the motion of the medium, not to some other medium such as the ground below. Therefore, there was no sonic boom because the plane was still going as fast as it normally would, relative to the air.

Some errors in the report: 2:32 It was a sub-sonic flight record, not super sonic! 2:41 The plane clocked up FAR more than 80mph... More like 800mph Note, that's ground speed- not airspeed! So this certainly was not super-sonic

Corrections - fastest Subsonic flight from NYC, and speeds up to 800 MilesPerHour .. which was 200 mph faster than normal due to the jet stream..

A little correction, a Boeing 747 didn’t travel supersonic at 80mph.... it traveled *subsonic and at *800mph....
