The Traveling Taylors

4 ай бұрын

We hunker down through the tale end of STORM JOYCELYN. We have to move the van twice to get out of the force of the wind.
We spent the night at Heswall Shore again, such a nice little park up. Then we follow the coast out to West Kirkby and stop at the marina. It was a bit to blustery so we move round to Hoylake and walk from the front into the Town. We end a trip with a drive through New Brighton and stop to get a quick pick of the Light House.

Thanks Tim, it's really nice over that way and plenty of places to stay if you ever wanted to visit Chester. To be fair the house was nice if you like modern buildings, it did look like a place a bond villain would live though. Hope you have managed to get out and about recently :-)

Hi guys loving all your videos .... But ..... I live just down the road from Hoylake I will disagree with your comments about the area yes its a bit frayed round the edges but Hoylake is one of the wealthiest areas on the Wirral in the summer flowers everywhere and a fabulous night life ..... Keep making the videos 😊

@@user-ks2gd8yu7d Thank you, I don't disagree there is a lot of money floating around. Just walking through the Town and like Southport where we live, when you look up and the buildings look tired. We have had the same problem for a long time, there is a lot of big money around Southport and Birkdale but it doesn't seem to get put back into the historic buildings we have. I can remember growing up and going through town in the 80's all the Victorian iron work was pristine, the buildings cared for and the shops full. Not like that now - not as bad as some seaside towns yet but still not like it should be. Next time you go through have a look up and you will see above the shop fronts it is staring to look tired. These things need to change all over the country, especially the North of England. Other than that it was a nice walk around, some lovely old property and welcoming people - especially on the front with us having the van. Lots of folk walking past and saying hello. It is the second time we have stayed on the front there and apart from the wind it has been lovely both times. I guess I am just nostalgic for a time when the old buildings had someone painting them and keeping them looking their best. We will be coming back over that way when we get a break late spring early summer, want to have a look at Ness botanic gardens, so we will probably end up on the front for a night again and maybe up for some tea in the town :-) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment

The vans parked along the front belong to a van hire lease company who are having a bit of a spat with the local council due to planning permission for their vehicles Good to see these areas again I worked for a supermarket as a delivery driver and covered a lot of those places, Hoylake was always a good lunch break spot One thing though I always find posher areas are less tolerant to campervans staying overnight

It is lovely all round there really, that's the second time we have stayed on the Holyoke front there and it has been great, well apart from the high wind. But all the folks who walk by have been lovely. We only stay one night and leave no trace - as it should be. Thanks for watching and commenting
