What Theon did was cowardly, but it was also the smartest thing he could have done. Had he actually tried to attack then Yara is dead. Euron slits her throat the second Theon tried to come at him.

I think Euron can really be described as someone who really just wants all eyes focused on him. Rather than labeling him as either a silent killer or crazy pirate, i feel like he just changes to whatever persona will make him the center of attention. He's a showman, and we see that in the promo for next week. Maybe i need to look back and analyze his scenes more, but i feel like his character changes can be forgiven if all he's done if for the rooms full attention

Pataclysm well her calling him an assassin I think is wrong cause an assassin is paid and doesn't kill for personal reasons. Also his personality in open battle might be different than his diplomatic one I mean in the heat of combat maybe that's where he's very dynamic and exciting

The actor who portrays Euron said in an interview he's different everytime you see him because he's out of his mind. The difference is on purpose.

"its supposed to be shit" isn't really a good justification imo. It feels really inconsistent as a character to just change personality on the fly. People who are out of their mind don't do that. Take the Joker, he has a distinct personality that doesn't just change on the fly.

I only discovered this channel about 3 weeks ago but your your now one of my favorite asoiaf/got channels, your reviews seem balanced between the extremes of excessively harsh criticism (like preston jacobs for example) and those who praise every thing the show dose even if it makes little sense (like say emergency awesome).

Problem with balistas is.It is good at shooting stationairy targets. Unless a dragon sits still or comes very close..... Like shooting a helicopter with a RPG. A balista is unwieldier than a RPG. RPG's were used against helicopters but with not much succes.

How much do you want to bet they will have Nymeria come to the rescue when Arya gets in trouble. The show as become Hollywood enough for that to happen imo. I skipped the Grey Worm scene. I'm 95% sure he will die next episode.

I'd like to think they'd at least have the sense to not have her come back... hopefully. And yeah, Greyworm is marked for death at this point.

Love your GOT reviews. Really nice work and many many valid points. GOT's been going downhill since the end of season 4, but there are still glimpses of hope in these last season 6 episodes and the beginning of season 7.

I sorta did not like how Olenna was written, the "be a dragon" line would probably be laughable to her book counterpart, guven her more practical, no-nonsense attitude

As much I love that the story is moving forward, it is really jarring that so much stuff if happening in these episodes. D&D have really lost the the sense of scale and amount of time things need to happen. It started last season with Varys teleporting from Dorne all the way back to catch up to Dany in Essos just to sail back to Dragonstone. Now Euron shows up at Kings Landing in Ep 1 and then Ep 2 with the battle against Yara/Theon. Now Jon is going to meet Dany next ep. Not saying its bad, but it def loses the effect the rules of the GOT universe have established.

I mean, on the one hand, scene after scene of people traveling would get old pretty fast... but I totally agree that having everyone snap back and forth from place to place makes Westeros feel like it's the size of Manhattan. My suggestion would be to make the characters look more haggered from their journey when they turn up at a new place. I get having to cheat the screen time, but if someone just spent weeks riding across the country then they need to be looking a lot more dirty and tired when they arrive somewhere.

I'm not liking the exposition. Dany's scenes were the worst for it. "This and that and this happened, so I think this and that and this" "Yes, I agree with this and that and this because I experienced this and that and this". This episode featured tons of things I've wanted to happen for years, but it's so hastily done and done with so much exposition, with things I don't give a shit about apparently warranting screen time, that the characters don't feel natural and I don't actually care that it's happening. We needed ten episodes, in my opinion, with more time to focus on what's happening. It seems to be fan service done wrong.

Love your insights. Your apt description of the dialogue made me laugh. :P I think it has less to do with the number of episodes and more to do with time management. Last season had ten episodes but dragged hoooooribly with scenes of things like Tyrion drinking... while Bran didn't even get to react to Hodor and Summer dying. I think that (in theory) it's fine if they want to give themselves a smaller space to work in... but if they're going to do that then they need to learn to prioritize accordingly.

My biggest problem with Tyrion’s plan is that if he wants to starve King’s Landing why did Daenerys go to Dragonstone? The show has made it clear that Highgarden and the Reach supplied all the food to King’s Landing. She has the Tyrells support so why not set up camp at Highgarden which would give team Daenerys direct control over the food output.

That would be an interesting thought. All the Lords of Westeros go full Robert's Rebellion on Both Cersei and Dany and put a 3rd person on the throne. Maybe this is all Littlefinger's doing do destroy ruler-ship by warrior kings? Not going to happen but i like the idea.

Scene 1-2 . I got nothing. I agree. I will say it was weirded she didn't know about Jon capturing winterfell. 3. While I did like the Varys scene a lot I really didn't care for the war council. I felt Tyrion was strangely not all that pissed at Myrcellas murder. (Really missed out on "Meh she was a shit niece." Joke Danzie) but you could argue that since they plan to attack Castkyrock it decrease the amount of death vs attack King Landing while also Increases the possibility of surrender, but you make some good points. Scene 4 same as 1-2 Scene 5 nah Danzie we need the closeups got that amazing scene change to the pie. But I honestly don't think they did it for empty shock value. I wouldn't be surprised if they just completely forgot about milk of the poppy but that dosent make your criticism any less true. Scene 6 agreed Scene 7 NO NO NO!!!!! DONT DO THIS TO ME!!!! IT WAS A GOOD BATTLE SCENE THAT KILLED OFF HALF OF THOSE SAND SNAKES BITCHES!!!!! But ya your point are once again still good and valid. But couldn't you have at least put it on the ok section?

Normally I agree with you on most (if not all) of your criticisms, but I just have to disagree this week. I thought the Euron fight was absolutely epic, it showed that Euron wasn't this boring nobody and he was actually a threat, he is a great Greyjoy - he is a great fighter on water and a great raider/pillager. It also made me feel like now the win for Dany isn't just a given (which it did feel like before imo), because she has now lost a lot of her ships and the Dornish army.

I love your reviews, but I only have one request - can you add yourself reading the titles of the parts of the video? ("The good", "The bad", "Arya" etc)? I tend to listen to the reviews while I do other stuff and thus have to understand the scene you talk about by context, and pretty much have no idea when you get to the okay/the bad

I love your content, only advice I could give is to cut down on time on vids as much as you can to expand your audiences attention. I watch because I know you have a really well thought out insite to the series. I feel like you are missing video watch count on a good minute on wasted time on video effects in the video. Keep it up though thanks!!!!

Personally, I found a lot of the dialogue to be weak this episode, especially from the Sands (no shock there). Is the line "A foreign invasion is underway," the new "bad pussy?"

Honestly the Missandie-Greyworm romance is one of the stupidest things the show has ever done (and that's saying a lot). It was just a huge waste of our time and that is unforgivable. The fact that Greyworm lived so they can do this crap and an amazing man like Ser Barristan died just pisses me off every time I see Greyworm.

danzie i have to strongly disagree with you on some points, you are really nit picking and being over critical on certain things 1st of about sam not giving jorah milk of the poppy, for al we know the instructions on that method he was using could have said not to use milk of the poppy we didnt actually see the instructions in depth, or maybe he wasnt able to access any at that time cuz he was sneaking and in a rush, u cant criticise them for that come on, then about john not sending someone else to dragonstone instead of going himself cuz it may have been dangerous, come on, this is john we are talking about. he always puts himself in dangerous situations, and always want to do things himself or be part of the action. this is the same john who went alone to try and treat with mans raider even tho he new he could be killed by the wildlings, he led the group of men who went to take down the rogue band of nights watch at crasters keep, he lead the mission to hard home to get the wildlings and fought the white walkers..not to talk of literally being the head of the front line at the battle of the bastards. why in the hek would u think he would send someone else to treat with danny, when it has to do with something so important, collecting dragon glass to kill the white walkers wich atm is all hes concerned about. yes it may be a trap or a risk.,but as i said before this is jon nd thats all he does. put himself in risky situations and always in the thick of the actions. its so obvious that he will go to danny himself. plus going himself will show her respect wich will help in winning her over to the cause because he is a king as he said. and finally your criticism on the euron character. i think hes great. stop comparing him to the books, we all know he is not the same in the books, but this is why the show is the show and the books are the books. as george rr martin has stated several times. the show is obv trying to make him into this wacko/crazy almost joker like villain and im not mad about cuz it works for tv. remember they are making a tv programe for tv viewers, not just for us book readers. sorry for the essay lol but i just had to say my bit. as always i love this channel and thanks for the uploads. and please ignore my numerous spelling mistakes! ive never been able to write properly lol

I disagree with your point about Tyrion. It's to create the perception of a bad leader and incentives for rebellion or lower moral of the land. Think of a queen can't get food for her people she is the first to blame and any change would be atleast a little more forth coming. Also all the infrastructure remains intact which is s huge issue I would guess in a middle age themed story like this.
@DanzieReviews

I don't necessarily disagree with the decision to lay siege to King's Landing. It was more that it was framed as having no possible negative impact on the citizens of King's Landing. "We aren't going to use Dragons because people could get killed... SO WE'RE GOING TO CUT OFF THEIR FOOD SUPPLY WHICH SUPER DUPER WON'T GET ANYONE KILLED DUE TO RIOTS OR STARVATION, RIGHT?" Your point about infrastructure is valid... but something that they didn't even consider. Only the well being of the people was brought up... and then was totally unaddressed when it came to their second plan.

That would be AWESOME!, Dany just comes to the red keep, burns Cercei and Jamie and takes King Landing; Then she moves north and burns the Night King breaking the spell on the wrights and WW ending the war in mere seconds. SO DRAMATIC! They should it like that in the show! I fail to see why is this a problem! No drama nor conflict and it with GoT teleportation it could be done in one episode, simply nuke them down. Girl I love your reviews but you got to lay down the alcohol and use your brain from time to time...

No no, I realize from a writing stand point that they can't make it that easy. I was more being critical of the fact that starving out a city gambles with more lives than the "tens of thousands" that would die in a dragon attack. Options A and B are both shitty, but only option A was acknowledged as such... no one batted an eye at the risks of option B.
