Very interesting, I always wondered how they got vehicles out of the water. I would have never thought that a tractor that size would be capable of pulling out something out that heavy. That's got to be one hell of an expensive tow.

So, the way to catch fish during winter in Wisconsin is to open the windows of your truck, drive onto the ice, let your truck sink in the river, pay a few thousand to have your truck hoisted out of the river, and then remove the fish from the passenger compartment -- right ?

Bingo!!

Amazing how they retrieve vehicles out of the water. I wonder if driving out onto the ice is worth not only the cost of the extraction, but the additional repairs to the vehicle.
@mrad65296 жыл бұрын
Without a doubt. The amount of money ice fishing generates easily makes up for the cost of pulling a few vehicles out each year.

Everything about this looks dangerous, I'm sure it is. I've never ice fished, I have flew over WI, and MN and have seen all the lakes and ice fishermen on the lakes. The story of these vehicles falling through every spring reminds of of watching some people at the supermarket driving around, and around the parking lot until they find one close enough to the door of the supermarket. Is walking out on the lake pulling a sled, far more prudent than the leisure, and danger of driving a truck out on the lake..

most insurance companies have the policy that once tour tires hit the ice your coverage is 0 . This is all on the owner out of pocket + fines .
@sheild11172 жыл бұрын
Totally wrong, most insurances do provide coverage for this kind of incident, it just depends on if the owner has it in their policy or not, it’s usually under full coverage with omprehensive.

Ice Lake, what is this Lake a free car wash or something, or people in Wisconsin don't know any better? Seem's like a regular thing in your state? I'm thinking that Buying Ice skates, or an Ice Boat? would be far cheaper to fall in with them, than replacing a $30,000 dollar vehicle, aren't there state law's prohibiting this, or are these stolen car that were ditched in the Lake?
@jordanlittle53917 жыл бұрын
David E Reese your not insured on the ice and subject to pollution charges but its your choice a truck like that doesnt even need 10 inches of ice these people just need to wait for thicker ice
@allanhunter23287 жыл бұрын
David E. Reese I don't know where you're from but people here in Mn. goes through the ice here don't know any better here either. so don't say Wis. drivers are stupid I have lived in Rice Lake, Wis. for year or so in the winter

I have to agree with Allen Hunter. No matter where you live here in WI (like I do) some people wait for the ice to get thicker and other people don't care at all. You just have to use your damn head if you want to loose your new truck or your life
