The reason also why I took so long to finally subscribe and comment on your channel is because after I saw that video of Louis IX in 2017 I didn't save the video and so years went by where I didn't see anything appear from your channel at all until late last year 2019 when the exact same video appeared as a recommend on the YOU TUBE list so I decided to watch it again and save it and I decided to watch through all of your videos that you have made up until now 2020 and I have to say I have learnt so much from your videos about THE CRUSADES you have made me proud to be a history lover thank you so much and continue with what you are doing all of the best to you.

I would highly recommend your videos to any school willing not show them. The videos you create are real and true history. If I ever have to move my children into private schools because of the over reaching arm of the government. I will recommend these videos for older students.

I love the fact that the Anglo Saxon and Jutes ancestors who settled in England came from the same areas of Europe apart from Norway where the Vikings later come from and the fact they all once worshipped the same Gods, Woden & Oden before the English based Saxons became Christian and that they all had the same mindset. To invade and take what they wanted and needed. Really looking forward to this one.

Not same mindset. After the saxons conquered the Britain's they did not enslave or humiliate the Britain's, they merged with them, and fought with them. The vikings sacrificed children, sold most adversaries into slavery, and tortured priests. A completely different mindset.

Even as a Christian, Alfred acknowledged Woden as an ancestor. I myself, as a Christian, believe he was the great patriarch of the Germanic peoples like Abraham was a patriarch to some of the Semitic peoples like the Arabs and Hebrews, hence Woden/Odin being called the all-father.

Absolutely a great video I remember when I first show one of your videos in 2017 it was the one about King Louis ix of France where you discussed what a great King and leader he was to his people that video you made thought me so much that I didn't know about this french king and as someone who absolutely loves history since I was a kid your video really impressed me so much that I decided to do my own research on Louis ix and I was truly surprised to really see just how much of an effective leader he was I never knew this about him in fact I had never even heard of just how much good and just Medieval Kings really where and so thanks to you I think that King Louis IX might just be my favourite king of the Middle Ages so thanks again so much.

In the last kingdom athelred was portrayed as a useless, good for nothing person. Didn't know he helped out Alfred that much because it was literally the opposite in the show lol.

@@storymaker299 id argue they were equal until ragnar died. after ragnar died, hands down the last kingdom was better. so overall i agree the last kingdom is better but vikings really had good moments too.

@@verrat3219 yes but the last kingdom is better from a more accurate standpoint. The vikings is terrible for accuracy, and glorified the vikings way to much.. Shield maidens never came to britain,, they stayed in Scandinavia ,, its why they were called shield maidens. They were not warriors. I hate it when history gets completely changed and people believe what they see on TV.

@@markmorris7123 100%. The writer of vikings said it's a drama show and they are loosely basing it off of history, so it's not meant to be accurate. The last kingdom is definitely more accurate however uhtred is a fictional character, and he is the main character so yea.

This intel will do wonders for my fanfiction, though one Christian Dane in my fanfiction, will die in the battle of Buttington whilst Hastein then grieves his loss, tells his Saxon nephew that he agrees for peace but then the pain of his friend's loss will motivate Hastein to take his own life. The way I will portray Hastein's backstory will make him a bitter and tragic villain, one who has fame and glory but doesn't want any of it, but only wants to be happy but can never find happiness.

Vikings is way better than the Last kingdom I now for a fact that vikings is definitely more historically accurate at some points but yes it is a drama show but the first three seasons are historically accurate except for rollo and Ragnar being Brothers
