I saw a comment on another channel that described a potential error in how the motion rig operates. This was from a professional pilot who said in coordinated banked turns you feel the intial motion going into the turn but then you don't feel a side G force. You are planted in your seat straight up. In full motion rigs they simulate that by dipping into the turn and then slowly returning to upright position so that you don't feel it. He said the term for that is called "washout". What I see instead here is when you go into a turn you are banked left and constantly feel like you're being pulled to the side. But if you've ever flown in a plane, pilot or not, you know that's not how it feels. When a passenger jet banks you're not being pulled into the windows or the aisle, except briefly as you initiate the turn. It's the same feeling as riding a motorcyle through a turn. You're not feeling like you're going to fall onto the floor -- you're planted straight into the seat. So my question is -- does this have a correction? Because to me it would feel unrealistic to fly a plane or heli and feel this incorrectly. It would be an "immersion buster", IMO.

I flew from Naples to Geneva today... IFR in the CJ4. The approach through the clouds and rain in the mountains was amazing. My list of favorite planes right now... Zenith 701 for low level STOL, Diamond DA62 for island hopping, and the CJ4 for long flights. I have learned a lot in MSFS, and VR makes it an amazing experience!

I love the weather and turbulance in msfs and with the motion rig I now go looking for bad weather. Ridge riding in the lake district in turbulance in an X Cub is just sublime 👌 I've never enjoyed flight simming so much since getting an Aero, and an H6; motion changes everything. The X Cub is lots of fun, very powerful, can take off and land anywhere. For landing in bad weather, my flying instructor used to say less flaps, less trim, land positively.

With the clarity you achieve in the Aero or supersampled G2, along with your aviation expertise, I am a little surprised you have cockpit tool tips on? Agree, always something to do in FS. Back in the day of FSX, I would hand fly the pattern around KDEN for hours on end. Sometimes I would spend a whole day doing nothing but hand flying around the pattern, always in my 757. Nothing like lifting off, climbing to pattern alt, trimming out and then setting up for approach only to grease it. Always something to do.

The clouds and weather definitely seem to have had an upgrade in recent updates. I've done a few live weather early morning flights 6:30 am from Bodmin, Cornwall and there was a low mist fog everywhere but no clouds above a few hundred feet. Flying down and landing the Top Rudders Solo next to Colliford Lake it was like something out of the King Arthur Excalibur movie. I asked Alexa what the weather was like and she said 'right now in Bodmin, there is mist and fog' and I was like 'yes they've nailed it!'.

From what we've had previously, the weather in this sim really is incredible. I don't really mind if its not completey accurate to the forecast, so long as it behaves correctly. But as you say, as of late, it's been spot on! Thanks for watching as always mate, especially right to the end :)

Now I watched it fully it was fun weather 4 sure. I had this kind of terrible weather few days ago at PTPN, Pohnpei I, Micronesia with new V2 Carenado PA44 Seminole and was also great fun. Clouds where amazing but did not exit VR to my 4K 2D screen to make a screenshot what I should have done but the flight was so fun I did not want to break my immersion.

Winds socks sadly often report incorrectly. I tend to rely on the ATIS or avoinice displays for the correct wind direction 👍

This will increase the variety of VR headsets compatible with X-Plane over time. The Varjo will Just Work™ in X-Plane 12.06 when OpenXR is enabled. Do you think Pimax Crystal will work with X plane 12.06 using Open XR?

Question for you Steve, as we're seeing you with stormy weather. Would you say the inclusion of the motion rig has enhanced the percieved accuracy of the flight model giving more depth and feedback to the planes adverse movements? That would be really interesting to know. Or is the motion rig creating it's own set of circumstances detatched from the environment? Been flying the Grumman Goose lately, it has quite a bit of character and you feel that also when you fly. Favourite plane is probably the TBM 930, as it's at a level that I can learn from and not be overwhelmed although Working Title have now made this much harder with there avionics update!

Hi thanks for the video; your video is awesome as always. I’m totally new to VR. I purchased a DPVR E4 VR Headset last week to use with MSFS and to be honest I’m having a hard time configuring it correctly and I’m not happy with how it looks. MSFS looks better in my 2k monitor. As a matter of fact I’m considering returning the DPVR E4. Would you recommend the HP REVERB H2 or the PIMAX Crystal as a first VR Headset? My PC specs are Intel i7-4770K with a GTX 1080Ti 12GB and 32GB of DDR3 RAM. It does great at 1080p and medium to high at 2K. I'm waiting on Amazon for an Intel i9-13900K paired with an AUSUS TUF motherboard and an RTX 4090, 64GB DDR 4 4000, 1000W PSU and a couple of M.2 NVMe SSDs to build a new MSFS VR rig.

Not sure those were the heaters you turned on. The heaters are next to the Firewall switch. This is why your blue light stayed on - you turned your blowers on which kept the cabin cold

What's considered a good fps for flight sim in VR? I have a 4090 and been playing with settings for days. Using mostly high settings with a couple of mediums (clouds and ambient occlusion) and getting around 75fps but sometimes it drops to 60 before going back up again. I love DLSS+DLAA mode so ideally would like to keep that on. Thanks 🙂

Turbulence caused by wind and thermals is pretty good but turbulence in clouds is not simulated well at all. I can fly a C172 in towering dark grey cumulus and the turbulence is almost non-existent. That is very unrealistic and needs to be addressed by MS/Asobo

It's definitely got better and the experience can get pretty violent in a motion platform. But I agree, more work need to be done. I believe it is planned..

I assume you do more reviews than actual guides At the moment I'm really trying to get settings down for g2 with 5800x3d and 4090 Struggling to get it at all smooth without open xr toolkit reprojection. Can hit 45-70fps currently bur it's horrible at low altitude or to yaw fast in helis
