One thing that has always bothered me about LS is the community's opinion of it. So often you'd see people describe LS as a "braindead weapon" that is "incredibly safe and easy to use" which just makes my poor performance of the weapon all the more frustrating. Whenever I play LS I miss numerous counters, get hit very often, cart a bunch of times, struggle to maintain red gauge, and overall have very slow hunts. The weapon is not as intuitive as people make it out to be. The only LS style I would consider myself adequate with is sacred sheath and that is mostly ignoring the counter system in its entirety. I miss when this weapon didn't had any counters.

There is so many things that contributes to the community attitude. The stats the devs gave us on percentage, even tho it doesn't give us details of wut determines it. Is it based on amount of players who used the weapon? How many hunt's is the weapon taken on? No idea, and even tho it it the most popular weapon, 80% of the playerbase don't play it, leading to the general hate on it. People thinking the counters are super easy because they watch the top 0.01% of longsword players being speedrunners. I can go on, but this comment is too long as it is

Im having trouble clearing Primordial Malzeno urgent quest using LS. I think my build just sucks and I haven't memorized its moves yet. What are your recommended builds at M6 (for LS)?

Longsword was my first weapon i didn't know about the counters until i returned to the game and now i can abuse the monsters , and my weakness are low frame rate

Longsword isn’t my favorite weapon, but it is a weapon I absolutely respect. Yes, it is a weapon that probably has a bit too much in terms of utility and probably is a bit forgiving. However, I always few people that are able to be really good with long sword as people who have really put in the practice with it. If you go into a monster with a top-tier build, but you have no idea what you’re doing with the weapon, it’s only natural that you’re going to find it frustrating. You have to be willing to put in the paces to understand its rules in order to start becoming better with it. Now you don’t have to love every weapon, I certainly more appreciate weapons than I love them. But I think that’s because I need more practice with all of the 14 weapons than my usual pics of Lance and Bow.

When I have to retrain myself for longsword I practice on Tigrex or Espinas

I only played LS in MHGU because of Valor. I barely touched LS in Rise.
