Story of my ride: Adelaide to Old Willunga Hill / McLaren Vale

There was plenty to see and do while in Adelaide this January for the Tour Down Under festival of cycling. The tradition continued for me in 2024 and I was back in South Australia because of a bike race. While there, I rode as often as I could, exploring the extensive bike path network and also tracing some of the race route... or simply rolling where the road took me.
On the day of stage three of the women's TDU, I set of early and visited the site of the finish that day: from the city to Old Willunga Hill.
I went along the Patrick Jonker Veloway, then picked up the Shiraz Trail to McLaren Vale and onwards to celebrated cycling terrain... and the slopes of the hill where Sarah Gigante won the stage and the title of #TDU2024.

Thanks for visiting our great city and showcasing our fantastic riding trails. I rode this one this morning and it was amazing. I recommend next time taking the trip via Blackwood and Clarendon to McLaren Vale and then come back in on the Veloway alongside the Southern Expressway.

I don't know how you smoothly turn the camera around and it's all so smooth and clear with no wind noise. Love the video quality it's very immersive. Also like the love of cockatoos and the randomness of stopping here and there

Discovered the Patrick Jonker cycle path this year at the TDU on my ride out to Willunga. I was like you, "wow it's fantastic". Hassel free, quiet and such a joy to ride. Well done, Adelaide. Enjoyed your vlog as I got to relive thoes memories again.
