There's a certain correction of facts which I'd like to bring to your notice, it were the other rishi's residing in trimbakeshwar who got jealous of Gautam Rishi and hence prayed to lord Ganesha, as we all know, popularly lord Ganesha is also called as Vignaharta (the one who takes away all the troubles) but not many people know that Lord Ganesha is also known as Vignakarta (the one who causes troubles) the other rishi's prayed to lord Ganesha to cause trouble to Gautam rishi's work of donation. Hence, Lord Ganesha took a form of a weak cow who was in the fields of Gautam Rishi and Gautam Rishi had Kusha sticks in his had and he was using those sticks to drive away the cow from the field. Gautam Rishi didn't know it was lord Ganesha and when the Kusha sticks touched the cow, the cow fell down and died on the spot and hence Gautam Rishi felt his sin.

Why did he kill the cow???
@raghavendrabairy393 Жыл бұрын
Sir, he didn’t kill it. Actually it was an illusionary cow which was none other than Lord Ganesha. Gautama Maharshi just tried to send the cow away from his fields by touching it with a blade of grass. But as it was illusionary cow it died on the spot. This cow was sent by the sages of that place who were jealous on Maharshi Gautama.
