Story Patches Tutorial: The BEST quilt labels!

As quilters we know every quilt needs a quilt label! It helps document who made it, who it's for, when it was completed, etc. These are important details to note on the quilt so the info can stay in your family for years to come.
In my opinion these are the BEST quilt labels!! They are called StoryPatches and they feature unique QR codes on each label. The QR is like a barcode that allows you to attach a personal message in your own voice to that quilt! It's genius and allows us to use technology to give add another level of personalization for the recipient of the quilt.
StoryPatches can be used with both Android and iOS mobile devices and also from your regular computer. All you need is internet access to record your message and also for the recipient to view the message you created for them.

Wow!! Just wow! How awesome to be able to leave a video of ourselves for our grandkids and their kids, etc. I would love to just hear my great grandmother voice instead of still pics .. That is a nice short video on making labels and it will help me in making labels for people I want to give a quilt to. I want to make some quilts which will be given away and this technique is super wonderful and you are a great teacher too.

+Dee L It's a really nifty idea, but they're charging entirely too much money for it. The geek and penny pincher in me immediately came out while watching the video.... You can make your own QR codes with videos embedded in them for free (Google this), and then print the QR code on a small section of a Print N Press transfer sheet (10 8x11 sheets for 20 bucks), and then add them on your own fabric labels.

I was excited to see this and read from a comment that you could get patches from: Not your mama's quilt store in Texas...The patch was $199.00 each shipping was $3.98 so got two for $8 and change (not much money, to be able to leave a video of your self or family as is for your grandchildren etc.) I am not sure if it is going to be just the bar code or the roomy patch shown here..take a look I tried to get through on Vanessa's site but couldn't get through?(
