The purse. I don't feel like the husband EVER meant for the purse to be for her. He had said, "Oh no leave it in the car, I have another gift I'm going to put it it for you that I've already gotten." At no point did OP mention the other gift. Also, OP made it clear that husband doesn't buy gifts for her on his own. I suppose it's possible she just didn't mention receiving it, but that certainly stuck out to me.

@@heatherrich3696 I agree, I also think he insisted he pay for so she wouldn't have a "leg to stand on". I feel it's a vindictive because OP said she was saving up for that specific item but he "had" to get that for her Christmas present then "gave it away"?

Story 6 makes me so mad and sad. My grandmother said this to me. It was during a family reunion and they were taking a generational photo. They asked my sister and her boys to get in the photo. When I started walking with my girls, she stopped me and said "Oh not you. Because you ....well you understand " My dad (step) adopted me when I was 4 and is my only dad. I walked out in tears. My aunt and uncles got upset on my behalf, but the damage was done. That was 20 years ago. I may have forgiven but I haven't talked to her since. I don't care anymore but it was a decisive moment knowing that's how she felt and I wasn't crazy feeling like I never fit. Hugs to this boy. I hope he moves on from it. Hold your boundaries and keep moving forward. You'll miss that closeness for your kids, but really I understand once you know how they feel it's impossible to forget.

I totally broke my ankle on my trampoline and no it didn’t have a net or spring guards. Fast forward to getting my children one it had all the things. My husband and I got into an argument early hours Christmas morning outside in the cold trying to put it together. He said I lost the spring tool thing (I didn’t because I wasn’t strong enough to pull the springs) it was found inside a box after he pulled them by hand.

In the story with the purse, I have a feeling that the ex wife/ bio mom of step daughter immediately stopped being angry and took OP’s side because she herself put up with the same BS when she was married to OP’s (hopefully soon to be Ex) husband. Some of the family who also took OP’s side has probably seen some of the same crap from the husband and step daughter and might be tired of placating the step daughter to “keep the peace.”

Story 4, that purse story. The ex-wife wasn't mad because I'm pretty sure that was also the reason she divorced him, so she understood.

Can't imagine how that stepdaughter can enjoy that purse knowing it rightly belonged to someone else....someone, whose only wish for Christmas was a simple azz purse. Father and daughter are cut from the same selfish cloth. 🍿🍿🍿

Story 3: a friend of mine has 7 biological kids and very strong genes. Her husband works very hard so I don't get to see him most times we visit, so there have been times when I see the kids running through and think "who is that one blonde kid?" Because I completely forgot her husband is blonde, because the brown hair gene is STRONG in their house. 😅 genetics is weird. I have 3 children, 2 by my ex, one by my current husband. 1 looks just like my ex, 1 looks just like me, and the youngest looks just like her dad, but they're all siblings and act alike in many ways 😅 you never know

Story 3. My daughter’s first born is the dad’s clone, her 2nd was her clone. Dad’s family still isn’t sure the second is his. They don’t say anything though. Dad’s not in the pic but his mom and gramma is. They’re cool about it

Story 3… I’m adopted so my parents are not my biological family but everyone says I look like my dad. My aunt couldn’t carry females. She went through a lot before she had her second son. MIL and hubby need to grovel but even then that feeling of betrayal will never really leave.

With the 'watching the kid one' I wonder if Mom was quizzing her child on what was happening. Not so much that the kid was 'reporting' on the person who was watching the kid but that Mom was interrogating the child.

Story 1 was 💯 a scam. He basically said yes but wanted to use a company they can both check is reputable and that she STILL gets to pick. There is no reason why this isn’t the perfect solution other than she’s scamming him.

My daughter (im mom) was a carbon copy of me and my son is a carbon copy of his dad. Thats what strong genes do....mother in law is horrible...
