It would have been nice if the Storybook Squares shows could have been one-hour specials, so they wouldn't have had to rush through them.

+tirmyta It took them over 3 minutes of the show's 21 minutes just to introduce the characters. And a full 5 minutes of the run time was over before the first question was asked.

Storybook Squares was to H2 as Jep was to Jeopardy and Wheel 2K was to Wheel of Fortune. But it kept its X designation for the boy and its O designation for the girl.

When this show was aired on NBC daytime Monday, July 4, 1977, no school & work (legal holiday for the USA version plus regulation size fireworks for any legal areas).

1977 and now 41 years later. WOW, As of today's date (9/14/18) seven of these ten celebrities are still alive including Peter Marshall. R.I.P. Paul Lynde, Milton Berle, & Vincent Price.

I loved this show as a kid (both HS and SS) but now looking back at all these old tapings, the crowd noise is obviously piped in. I have my doubts that there was ever a studio audience throughout the 70s. Still cool to watch and thanks for posting this.

Alas, poor Valerie, she was mentally underwhelmed. Now that she's on Food Network on the weekends with VALERIE'S HOME COOKING, I hope she found her happy place at last. Little Miss Muffet ate her curds and whey, NOT lost it. That was Little Bo Peep who lost her sheep. We hoped she saw a professional about her childhood traumas.
