Fantastic story, well done 👏 Unbelievable in 2016 that your teacher said "it's not for people like you". Sounds like comments heard back in the 1990s. Foundation years seem like a brilliant idea for anyone tbh given the huge cost and time we commit to degrees. Wish I had done more prep like that instead of struggling with skills I'd never been taught at state school. I ended up at RGs, which I'm proud of, and was a straight A student in the old GCSEs and A Levels. But we weren’t rich or connected either and often RGs can be full of snobs too. That said, we shouldn't need such university brands on our CVs just to do well in life. I enjoyed my time studying at free European institutions much more thanks to the old Erasmus scheme.

I honestly feel this way! I try to damn hard and I push myself everyday, sometimes not leaving school until about 7pm or 8pm. It is really tough when you get low grade predictions!

Hi Vee!💛💛💛 I’m Congolese and I’m studying in South Africa. I’m in my final year of A levels. My subjects are Maths, economics and business studies. I got an A for French A level it made me realize that I can get the same grade for my other subjects 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. Thank you so much for your encouraging videos, you really boost me to work hard. I kinda relate to your story when you talked about teachers who do not encourage you. I’ve had the same experience and it’s still happening. But that won’t stop me😉 gonna get them As like I did with French A level 😌

I’m in Transition Year in Ireland, but I decided to spend the year in Germany on exchange :) Transition Year is year 11 in uk but it is an optional year where you do projects, trips, school competitions, work experience etc. I’m getting my junior cert results(gcses) on Friday 😬☺️
