I thought it was very reliable, everywhere I read everything said that only the early models had the issues. And now the early model issues plague the entire challenger name. All the reviews from consumer reports to personal reviews all said the late models had no issues. Your note about jealousy is certainly an issue. It's been shown to be a problem with teslas where strangers would intentionally try to key/scratch them. While challenger is neat, being a target 24/7 certainly isn't fun
@cutlerylover
@cutlerylover 3 жыл бұрын
From what I know the newer challengers should be more reliable im not worried about the engine or trans but worries about other stuff since the brand is just not reliable overall...the 200 worked great but the bad welds in then heatercore caused all kinds of problems for the entire car sadly it was its achilles heel...

You went the wrong way on the highway? Yikes! Always good to catch that mistake as quickly as possible! That can be fatal! I’ve known people in my neck of the woods who have gotten confused by roads and road signs and have made similar mistakes. There was one fatality in my area years ago where a state trooper got killed by a drunk driver going the wrong way. Your Challenger and your old Chevy truck are my favorites of the cars you’ve had. You have good taste in automobiles! 🙂 My dream car has always been a Cadillac. Love the old late 60’s/early 70’s models. They were BOATS and unfortunately, they hog up the gas pretty quickly. Obviously they’re show cars now and not practical for everyday transportation.

I understand the insecurity and worrying about something happening to your nice car. I went from a rusted out, new-problem-every-month dodge durango I got nearly for free, to a nice acura. I don't live in a nice area and I was paranoid at first but now looking at it realistically, if you're insured, nothing to worry about. Also for anyone financing a car, GET GAP INSURANCE. Buddy of mine at work is going through hell because he got a new car and got in a wreck almost immediately, but because he got gap insurance, he won't be paying on that totaled vehicle the next 5 years. I didn't even know what gap insurance was before that, they sure don't teach it in school and if you don't know, you don't know.

Good on ya Jeff. Should be a great ride and get you around safely out in the sticks mid winter. I bought a new truck last month and I can attest, you just can't win.. They all deteriorate, they all have their haters and fanboys, everybody knows somebody that had one where x y and z happened to it.. you know how it goes. Sounds like you made the right call! From a fellow maintenance fanatic, look into a first oil change around the 1K mark.. Sounds crazy, but I've seen mechanics filter out metal fragments from the break in period. They wind up in your seals and valves and gunk things up. I know guys that flip cars for a living, and a single owner with an early oil change and consistent 5k changes there after is considered a grand slam. take care!

We have the same shit over here, we had opel(GM) they sold it to the french and the owners got fucked, no more onstar, no more updates for the nav on a car that is 2 years old, so now it's looking for a car that is reliable, so maybe Lexus ?
@eginteractive
@eginteractive 3 жыл бұрын
A Lexus is simply a luxury Toyota. The problem with Lexus is even though they do last quite a long time (because again, fancy Toyota), the cost of replacement parts and services are much higher than with a standard Toyota. If you really want a nice luxury car, lease it. There's a reason why you see a lot of used luxury cars on "buy here pay here" lots. People want a fancy car, leather seats, modern infotainment system, heated steering wheel, etc. But what they never realize is that any car that has all kinds of electronics and sensors, it's more stuff that can (and will) fail, and when it comes time to actually fix this stuff, people can't afford to fix it. So the car either sits and they make payments on a car they can't drive, or they allow it to be repossessed and then the cycle continues. Never buy a used luxury car, unless you can afford to dump thousands into fixing them, and if you have thousands to fix a luxury car you can afford to simply lease a new one and get rid of it before it starts to cost you money in repairs.

Your Chrysler might not have been the best representation of Stellantis because it was broken from the factory and they sold you a broken car. They knew it and put coagulent in it, which is something that will 100% break the heater core sooner or later, and sold you that thing nontheless - fraudulent dealer. But Stellantis cars really compared to the likes of Toyotas, Hondas and such do not have those long-lasting qualities. My dad bought a new Qashqai and it is the 2nd time in the shop because of some turbo weirdness issues. They destroyed Nissan as a brand. I bet the Toyota will be awesome. I'd get one any day!

cutlerylover, I said it before and I’ll say it till I draw my last breath. The Dodge Challenger is a Muscle Car and Muscle Cars are meant to be Rear Wheel Drive not All Wheel Drive. Jeffrey, jeff, Jefferson, you need to just have a baby if you want one, trust me and I think most people will agree, if you keep waiting for the perfect moment....you will never have children. It's not as bad as you think, in fact it's one of the best rewards in life. You would be a great dad, and after the baby was here you would be so much happier....just saying. I wouldn't trade any of my kids for nothing.... unless you have a spyderco szabo?

When my 95 ranger started needing a lot of work this year, a lot of work, I traded for a 2013 caravan that I had a month and it was hit and totaled. I ended up with a 13 Scion xD (Toyota). Didn’t want a car, but dang. The gas mileage is a big plus, but it’s comfy and cheaper on insurance (full coverage) than the ranger (liability only). It’s dependable and I would trust it anywhere. Toyota and Honda….this is the way

I drive a Toyota Camry and love it! But it’s not a fun vehicle like the challenger you had. I think you did the right thing by getting a 4 door. I also think that you should get it again later as something fun or at least something just as cool. Great video as usual brother!

What’s up cutlerylover! Sick glasses too bro, hey do you still smoke cigars? I remember you use too & i just got into them myself ,and picked up a cheap humidor on Amazon for like $20 i think it was. anyways i was just wondering if you know some good budget sticks i could try? I like maduros the best i think, so far i like the Maduro elephant butts lol for cheaper ones. & the La Gloria Spanish press for something a little more pricey, but yeah if you haven’t yet, give the elephant butts a try it’s good for a $2 smoke 💯 the Maduro anyway 🙂.

We have "x" many on the way and "y" are already sold is a sales tactic based on FOMO. Yes, some cars are in more demand than others, but if you want a specific car, they can get it for you.

Thats logical but not true, I talked to several people and looked at stock on different dealers so sure they could lie as a tactic but the reality is if you want a specific car you WILL wait and in this case months which wasnt an option...To further prove he wasn't lying the day our car arrived 6 others arrived along with their buyers all waiting with us....Also he said if we wanted a magnetic grey which was our first choice it would simply take 2 moths he could get one so he was truthful about the situation..

You're a smart guy. Chrysler sucks! I just had to buy a new car because my jeep just blew up. It was a money pit. The only vehicles worth a crap right now are Toyota and Honda. I used to have a Toyota truck so this time I got a 4runner. It's so much better than a jeep. Rav 4 is great too. I almost got one myself but the 4runner was to good of a deal. 👍

Comparing the cheapest model car that Chrysler made of that year purchasing it I mean it for a couple years then comparing it to their premium most expensive car and buying their lease expensive version of that the v6 all-wheel drive yes I get Pennsylvania but not SRT not RT not manual not hellcat not red eye not demon that's apples and oranges bud compare Dare to compare how can you compare automatic 200 Chrysler they didn't make neons at that time and I think darts were there neon / thing so it was the lowest grade vehicle Chrysler 200 and now you're comparing it to the low end of the premium that's not a fair comparison and Dodge rust out well you love Dodge nah just say it was your wife that convinced you and then I believe it more change up getting why you can't either way man would never own that I got to I got a brother-in-law that has rt5 speed brt you know good old do we have the hellcat but got the V8 and that thing sucks in the winter and that's why he has a Ford ranger pickup that he drives normally during the winter we're up here in Pennsylvania if you want to all around you should have never bought that car well you should have bought that car and it would have done just fine but you didn't like the high price tag per month and the insurance cost it was really about cost per dollar but we won't go there

So again on this concept it would be like taking your Toyota RAV4 and it can pairing it to the greatest Lexus SUV trim package I mean after all Toyota Lexus blah blah blah same concept right you're trying to get the lowest model owned by the company and compare it to their highest model I mean even though it's not the highest model trim but you're trying to take the lowest price car they had available even if you had it the highest trim and compare it to the lowest model now highest just doesn't make sense Jeff sorry bro don't make sense

Great motors but you're talking about heating and cooling no one makes a great motor anymore and you're talking about body and wear down like so I got a great motor but not in sitting around it no one does that things are designed to go away now why do you think Ford makes aluminum bodies now cuz the motor is going to go it won't Rush it's cheaper it's aluminum the body won't rust away the motors going to go pick and choose your poison we can go to GM well GM now ain't even going to make a diesel for the next year they from what I heard they deleted that s*** but they either sucked anyway Duramax suck power stroke sucked under f****** Cummins anyway the 6-cylinder diesel engine beat the beards power stroke or Duramax either way was always Mopar right with the six cylinder they're coming I can go on forever but I get bored here but it was it was funny it was interesting by the way when you're talking about diesels look up Rudolph diesel the inventor of the motor he originally designed it to run on corn oil cold dust and peanut oil it was originally a biodiesel engine years ago big Cole he died mysteriously cuz gas company's killed him got the patents and then modified his engine to run on Petro diesel but little bag of that one goes research your history little ones I'll laugh all the way don't matter

Listening to your video I think the real reason is not reliability question you add your little Chrysler 200 which in its day was like the equivalency of a neon or a Dodge dart they called it was the cheapest f****** Chrysler Dodge whatever product you made and you said last thing you how many years and paid for it no you got your money's worth what you went for was now a Honda CRV which has a much cheaper price tag per month to insure and that be honest bug just be honest man just just really be honest it wasn't the maintenance you put would you say you bought it with 4,000 you put four so you're under 10 no you just need a cheaper payment that if you could say that and you're honesty that really would have been cool and survival winner I live in Pennsylvania too last year's winter wasn't s***
