I've heard so many stories about what an SOB Johnny Valentine was to not only the boys, but the fans as well, I met JV when I was about 11 years old (in 1963/64 during one of his WWWF runs), and he couldn't have been nicer to a totally star struck young fan. .

At scout camp we used to wait for someone to go for a nap then we would lay a itch stop cloth over their face. The cloths were soaked in ammonia. It slways got a great reaction!.

Great story !!!! I do9nt think Ive heard that one but I have heard several other Johnny Valentine ribs that were also pretty rough . Like the "shooting " on the side of the road ! Too much to type here . But if you can find it , its fn crazy and hilarious !!!

Yup. Considering how many wrestlers were very malicious ribbers: Mr. Perfect, Mr. Fuji, and dynamite kid to name a few. You really have to wonder about the psyche of these people and the old timers who recall their tales of ribbing on shoot interviews in such a fond manner.

@@engrey Yeah, I mean, the ones I've heard from Mr Perfect and Dynamite Kid were messed up, but you can sort of laugh about them. Fuji on the other hand was sick as well, but nothing compares to this story about Johnny V

@@JoeG2324 Mr Perfect causing a huge problem with Dynamite and Rougeau or Dynamite drugging the ring boy are the stories I remember about those two guys the most. I can't laugh at that.

Ribs are ribs. This among some other things I (and thankfully an unconventionally same majority) don't see a shred of humour in this. It's not a rib. Why not just kick someone out of their wheelchair or throw an elderly woman down the stairs while you're at it? I wouldn't phone an ambulance for someone like a Valentine irl tbh.

This story was brought up on WCMB a while back and it was sworn that York was in on it, that it was really a rib by both on the rest of the guys, and also that they had pulled the same stunt in several other areas.

I’ve heard at least one other version of this story. In that one, which Flair has told, York thought it was Buddy Rodgers and not Valentine, so he shot Rodgers’ gold Halliburton briefcase. Flair also talked about one rib where Valentine intentionally made Smasher Sloan late for a show on Sloan’s first day in the territory for the lulz, so Sloan shot him with a speargun. In general, stuff like that is why no one but Flair and a few other JCP guys had much to do with him after the infamous plane crash, as he was a strange guy who would do crap like that for fun.

Actually that was end of it he that shoot Johnny Harley pull his gun out The Alaskan said it was a fake and Johnny got up laughing.
